I'm a new member from southern calif. who would like to know which 3 gen 4x4 should i buy. I'm retired and on my bucket list is to drive as far north as i can and then from west to east also what add ons should i do before my trip I realize thats a lot of questions but if any one knows the answers you all should many thanks

Decent 96-02 4runners are hard to come by in SoCal. I searched for them for quiet awhile. All were 150k+ miles on them and were beat up with many previous owners.

If I were you I would get a late model 4th gen 4runner (2006+). Much more comfortable than the previous 4gen 4runners. I have a 2009 and I love it.

2002 was the cream. get the 4x4 looked at carefully. replace the battery. replace the tires change belts and fluids and go!!
