quick can someone please tell me? vleds.com is having a very short 50% off sale. what is the full kit i would need to do an hid conversion on my 08?

For the fogs this is correct, for the lows you would need the H11's. I love V-Leds stuff and with this sale you cant go wrong. I picked up the 5k lows and fogs and cant wait to get them installed...it's just too damn cold right now to work on the rig :redbrick:
 
Be careful about buying the low end stuff. It is well documented that it leads to problems and a waist of money.

A good quality HID retro kit will run $200-$300. Otherwise, just get Silverstar Ultra bulbs for $35 on amazon.
 
Anyone have issues with the HID bulbs when they flash if the factory or aftermarket alarm is triggered? I assume that can't be good for these type of bulbs unlike the OEM halogens that don't need to warm up. Just wondering before making with switch.
 
Your headlights flash? On all the Toyota's I've had including my 04 runner, the turn signals flash. Come to think of it, that's how the factory alarms on ALL my cars work.
 
Yeah, my lo beams flash along with the directionals, tails and interior lights come on along with the blasting horn. It's actually even written like that in the manual for my model year. Maybe it got programmed like this for the '06+ years? Sounds like you guys don't have this issue for the '05 and below?

Ok, learned something new here, so anyone out there with '07-09 models with aftermarket HIDs have any issues with a triggered alarm affecting your bulbs when they flash? Looking for tips to bypass this feature or have the high's flash instead.

V-HIDS is not low end, they just run great deals for a short time. If you are still paying $2-300 for an HID kit you are overpaying.

+1 they were originally lik 75 shipped and they ran some crazy 2 minute (yes literally 2 minute) sale that was half off. 200 bucks is way off base. All the major suppliers of these are under 100

Look for German or Japanese brand kit's, I have ran the same HID 9006 35w kit from Japan for 5+ years and only recently with my 06 upgrade have I swapped to a H11 55w kit.

And the low priced kits from DDM Tuning http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DDM-HID-Kit-Slim-Ballast-35W-or-55W

All depends what quality you looking for and how much you want to spend.

I don't mean to hijacking the post, but I have a quick question; when you install an hid kit, do you lose your daytime running lights??
