Which kind of gas?

Which kind of gas do you use? Do you look for Top Tier rating (Shell, Chevron, 76, QT, etc.) or not?

I think I'm gonna stick to top tier gas now. I used to use non-top tier, and i had some issues, at least i think. it was claimed to be the issue. we shall see in time as i get to drive it more..

According to the little tests I've done, I find little difference. There certainly wasn't enough to make up the cost difference in MPG.

I figure that if I'm using Top Tier when I go in to have the stinky sulfur exhaust fix (around 75k miles), then they can't tell me it's the gas - cuz I will be using exactly what Toyota recommends!

I run 93 octane all the time and I seem to have the best luck with Shell.

89 octane seems to work well enough for me most of the time, i use to run 93 & still do on every now & then.

I use Citgo. Mainly because they offer 87 with no ethanol, plus its the closest gas station to my house. I haven't come across another station in my area that offers 87 with no ethanol, they only offer it in 93.
They aren't listed as a top tier brand, but according to their site they exceed EPA standards and add detergents.

Anyone have any input about Citgo?

Same for me.... Not much difference in gas mileage but performance, particularly when doing a hard acceleration, is much better with premium....

I typically fill up with Hess.....

i agree.. shell always seems to work best in my engine. I either go high or mid octane.

I use Premium from the Chevron near my house. If I need to fill up when I'm out on the road I try to find a Chevron dealer. If not, any brand will do as long as it's premium. Grade is more important then brand. I used to use regular but I found that it performs better under hard acceleration with premium.:zoom:

Which ever one that says "100% gas". I try to avoid the stations that have 10% ethanol in it.
