Which model did you get: SR5 Sport Edition or Limited

Limited, mostly because of the leather and colour- keyed cladding. V8 because you got the 5pd auto and full-time 4wd with it. Also more power for towing, with the same (or better) fuel economy than the V6.

I DO prefer the hood scoop and wheels on the Sport tho.....I'm considering making a sport/limited hybrid if I can get the parts cheap enough.

Wow, almost half of all the 4th generation 4Runners are Sport models?

I would have guessed that the SR5 would be the majority. And the Limiteds would be very rare, due to their high sticker price.

Like I've said previously, there are a lot of like minded buyers on here. I think the Sport offers the best deal between options/performance/price.

No argument here... I also went with the Sport model.

My reasons were different though... I really liked the stock wheels on the Sport, plus the hood scoop gives it an aggressive look. Also, I liked the contrast of the silver roof racks and bumpers with the galactic grey paint. The SR5 had a black roof rack and the Limited had silver running boards (which I don't really like), so the only way to get the look I wanted was with a Sport Edition.

Oh, I also really wanted the XREAS suspesion. I also wanted the factory navigation system, which is obviously not available on the Sport, so I bought one from Troy and installed it myself. Now I have the perfect 4Runner (for me!)

SilverSTARS are a must on all my family vehicles... well.. the ones that don't come with HIDs. SilverSTARS look awesome..

on the other hand.. I love the colored roof racks along with the other pieces that are colored and matched. I guess I wouldn't be going crazy 4x4 in a Limited.

Now, only if I could find the extra money to put in a supercharger... :awais:

Ltd for me. Wanted the leather & power seats. Don't care too much for heated seats, but heated steering wheel would've been real nice.

what is the cost of buying a painted SE hood? if ya can..


im currenty in a toss up between SE and LTD....... probably end up with a sport but I wish It could be equipped w/ nav/camera.

It obviously varies by the deal you get on the parts and painting. Mine cost about $375 including sales tax and I am estimating $200 more for paint.

I got the 2005 Sport Edition because of the XREAS suspension and the hood scoop.

I agree that the Sport was a great all around value! Liked the body colored mirrors and the 2003 sport edition silver trim piece match my silver paint.

We also have the best looking wheels!

Sport - I love the scoop, silver roof fack, spoiler, Xreas, rims, yadda yadda yadda...

Really pissed about the factory Nav thing only being available on the Limited, but hopefully now I can get that taken care of thanks to this awsome board and oemvalue!

SR5 4X4 V-6! I too, really wanted a sport edition but unlike many here, I could NOT find a V-6 SE 4X4 with a moonroof here in So. Califunky when I was searching. I went with the SR5 instead of the only nonroof 4X4 titanium (yucky color) SE model I could find locally. My 4Runner also came in the best color (at that time) Galatica Gray in my opinion. Though now, I believe the Salsa Red in hands down the best color for the 4Runner.

In retrospect, none of the above really bothers me EXCEPT for the fact that now the 2005 V-6 models have the 5 spd tranny instead of the 4spd as my '04 does. I'm still pissed that Toyota didn't use the 5spd tranny in all models during the '04 year. The V-6's hp and torque definitely called for it from the onset.

The SR5 model is by far the most popular selling model of the Runner. It just appears that most fans of forums seems to be limited and sport edition owners. My Runner has the SE rims and rear spoiler kit thus it mimics the SE model from the outside rear and side views. Besides, with the '05 SE now being the only model with the middle of both bumpers painted titamium and the roof rack switching to black, then a 4Runner fan will have to pass me just to see if I am driving the SE or not. I like the suspense I place on the rear approaching driver!

fo'runner, got to agree the Galatica Gray is a great color, it was my 2nd choice. Makes you wonder why Toyota always shows the 4runner in Titanium on the cover of the brochure?

Ditto my friend! What I didn't like about the Titanium color when I saw it was it never appeared to shine/gleam in the southern California sunshine. Only the black and Gray gleamed...........a man's gotta have his gleam after a hard day of washing/waxing/polishing his rig!
