Which model did you get: SR5 Sport Edition or Limited

fo'runner, got to agree the Galatica Gray is a great color, it was my 2nd choice. Makes you wonder why Toyota always shows the 4runner in Titanium on the cover of the brochure?

Hmmm... Titanium was my second color choice. The main things that made me go with Galactic grey were:

1- Titanium looks too monochromatic in the sport edition. I wanted the contrast of the silver accents (bumpers/roofrack) on a darker color

2- I don't particularly care for the squared-off wheel well openings. Silver and white make them soooo obvious. Darker colors tend to blend in with them, making them less obvious.

My Runner has the SE rims and rear spoiler kit thus it mimics the SE model from the outside rear and side views. Besides, with the '05 SE now being the only model with the middle of both bumpers painted titamium and the roof rack switching to black, then a 4Runner fan will have to pass me just to see if I am driving the SE or not. I like the suspense I place on the rear approaching driver!

My first indication that the model in front is the 2k5 would be the new spoiler...

Also, the limited and SR5 look very similar in 2005. They both come with black roof rails/running boards now and painted to match center bumpers. SR5 gets its distinction from the black side view mirrors and chrome grill.

SE models luck out and keep the silver bumper trim and silver roof racks.

SRS

i my self went with the SRS, as i didn't research anything about the car. I'm new to offroading, and didnt know a whole lot about the 4runna. Soo i was deciding on a Highlander? Then i went to the DS and they had great deals on the 4runna. So i bought the srs with all the features, JBL, Spoiler, Moon Roof, Leather. Now that a friend told me about this site i feel awful that i didn't go with the Sports edition, or atleast a 4wd.. i stil hope that 2wd Srs will give me enought power, as i live in FL, no snow, mountains, just sandy beaches...

Got the Sr5>

1) Im a science guy - have always chosen function over looks - so didn't think much of the hood scoop - although I dont mind it
2)Didn't need the XREAS - I tested it; wasn't that big of an improvement. Plus we've had several 4runners (of diff generations) and they all did/felt perfectly without any XREAS type system. So when it was MY time to get a runner in the family, we all (myself included) thought it a bit unneccessary (and with less mechanical parts reliability would be ever so slightly higher)
3)Leather seats? Hate em! Toyota cloth seats are like rocks (well... on trucks at least)

Conclusion? SR5

05 Sport Edition V8

I own a 2005 Sport Edition V8 in Stratosphere Mica. I did a lot of research before purchasing and wanted the more powerful engine and better suspension. Would have liked leather seats, but the Limited was a too expensive.

The fabric seats in the Sport are okay, but they pick up an incredible amount of lint and get dirty easy. So I purchased Wet Okole waterproof seat covers and are really happy with them-- I love the look and the fact that they are easy to clean. When my two dogs ride in the backseat (they prefer to have their own windows), I cover the seats with a blanket just to cut down on some of the dog hair! The Wet Okole covers are warmer in the winter and add a bit of padding that makes the seats more comfortable.

i love my truck.. i would have gone with the limited but i absolutley need to have black seats, and i dont know why toyota dosent offer black leather in the limited...

im thinking about putting leather in my truck, but i wonder if i could get the seats heated too?

You should be able to find a place that will put heaters in them. Actually the more I think about it, I think there was a member here that did that. Seems like I remember reading a post about it.

2007 Sport Edition. I ugraded from my 1966 Mustang Daily driver. The T4R is A big upgrade. I love everything about it.

i got a black 04 sr5 v6 only because i was able to pick it up for 20k ;otherwise i would have got a sport. i like the wheels on the sport alot better.
