Which Nav Is Better ?

Hey. I have been looking at putting a Nav unit in my 2006 4runner but I am not sure if I should get a Kenwood DNX8120 or a Eclipse 6620. I pretty much ruled out the Alpine IVA-W505 because of the mounting, It sticks out from dash a little. Any input will be great. I plan on buying one with in the week.

What causes the mounting problem? Would it be possible to modify the brackets b/c the Alpine is a sweet unit

I dont know, Someone on this forum said they had issues with it not fitting like it was made for the dash.

in my personal experience alpine is only OK. and their customer service is nonexistent, that alone would lead me to the eclipse

this is the nav I am considering. double din with detachable face plate. has nav traffic (with subscription) and wide screen. it does "stick out" about 1/4 inch

that JVC deck looks interesting but there is very limited information about it on the web. no reviews, no details besides the standard spec sheet.

it does have a detachable faceplate which is unique among all double-din decks.

Go with whichever unit you like best and don't worry about it sticking out. You can easily modify the mounting bracket to make it sit as flush as you desire. I installed an Eclipse in a relative's 4Runner earlier this year and it sits perfectly flush with the dash opening. I just had to move the mounting holes on the brackets, which is very easy.
