Which should I get> Eibach Coils or OME 885

I just ordered Bilstein 5100's Front and Rear shocks
But I have to wait till like May 7-9 for the fronts to ship and the rear are on back order...:sobbing: but I got a really good deal from AJUSA front and rears for $340

Now I need to get Lift Coils and I cant decide which ones to get for a 3/2 lift.
Eibach 620# spring rate coils or OME 895 for the front
I was just wondering between these two because I haven't seen any info on using eibach coils with 4th gen t4r's only 3rd gens...

I contacted Toytec and this was there reply:
When using the Bilstein 5100's and the Toytec/Eibach coils you can only use the bottom 2 settings on the shock. The lowest setting will provide about 1.6" of lift, and on the next clip up it will give an average of 3" of lift. I don't recommend the 896 rear coils unless you already have a rear bumper because you will get a harsh ride quality and to much.

I am kind of hesitant to set the bilsteins on the second notch...wont doing this make for a stiff ride?
Should I just get the eibachs and set the bilsteins on the second notch?

The 885s are 590 lb/in, so considerably softer than the eibachs.. I thought the 885s were a tad stiff, so I definitely wouldn't go with the eibach coils. My suggestion is either 884s + top plate spacers or 885s for the front. The 884s are the same coil rate but shorter so there is less preload which should make for a better ride. I suggest the Toytec superflex rear coils. They are 10% stiffer than stock. The ome 895s are 45% stiffer than stock.

Another possible option is the metal tech 4x4 rear coils. They are the only ones I've seen that are progressive, they are softer and stiffer than stock depending on load. These look promising, but I don't know of anyone using them.

All the above assumes stock bumpers, if you plan to upgrade those the coil choices would change.

Would OME 885's in the front w/top spacers and Toytec superflex in the rear provide a 3/2 lift? I think that's a pretty good setup. Also, where would you dial in the Bilstein's? Looks like you'd use the setting next up from the lowest.

Those eibachs would be good with weight added to the front, but are too stiff for stock weight imo.

hmmmm, ICON rear coils are "way way better than toytec superflex"? Have you tried the superflex rear coils? I have superflex coils on my rig and love them. I'm sure the ICON's are badass but I was just wondering how you made that comparison. :barf:

Casper (I believe) has the 1/4" spacer. I ran the same setup, only difference was that I used my stock air bags to lift the rear 2" instead of the Superflex coils. Also have a 1/2" body lift. I got 3.5" out of the OME fronts with 1/4" spacer.

You my friend are correct! It yields about 1/2" of lift. I’m very happy with the setup. It rides more "truck" like on the straights but it kept the cornering stiffness that the XREAS had. Minimal body roll and nose dive. I believe its the best setup for a DD!

I do have a little rake but it's perfect to me. The 885's and spacer were too much with the v6, I wouldve kept it like that with a v8 but the v6 is lighter.

So most seem to like the 885 better than the Eibach. What about the Toytec adjustable setup that uses the 5100s??? Will the Superflex coils out back flex a lot more than a 1.5" spacer setup?

I have the eibach front on the bilstiens set on the 2nd setting with the 1/2" spacer I think it is a great ride I am waiting for my shrockworks bumper to come in and see how far it sags but i love the ride and it does great off road just need to get the upper control arms for the alignment though
also i have the toytec super flex in the rear and it has a good ride
however if you load it it rides a bit firmer

Hey everyone, I Have a 08 Fj and an 09 Runner.

I have 5100's on the FJ and I just installed the Metal Tech progressive rate rear coils and LOVE them...Smooth, nice flex, and firm enough on the road.

I waiting for the second set of 5100's for the Runner to ship. I plan on using the springs off the FJ on the 4runner for a lil extra lift.

I would recommend the MT rear springs for anyone looking for a nice option to the Toyteck springs.

1st do you have a v8
2nd. If you are v6 was your ride to stiff with the 885 and 5100 and no extra weight up front

I have a V8. The ride is definitely stiffer and more truck like with this set up but that's what I wanted. My mechanic always comments on how smooth it rides and handles with 4.25" of lift and 33's.
