Which Sliders?

I have a 2004 sport v6 with a 2.5/1.5 lift. The next mod I'm looking to do is sliders. I don't go over many rock trails but I do want some protection. I also hate the running boards and but need something there to help the wife step in and out. I also really like the protection against idiots who park too close to me and ding my doors up.

So with all that said, I'd like opinions on which sliders to get. Which sliders stick out the furthest? And what is the average length they stick out? Do they extend past the doors? Domello, shockworks, budbuilt, and white knuckle seem popular around here. Thanks in advance.

Most all of the websites show pictures of the sliders installed so you can get a look at how they fit on the vehicle. So search on here as well as their websites to see reviews. I will say that while it is nice to be protected from the other drivers doors, the sliders that come up toward your doors make it more difficult to get in and/or more likely that you will be getting whatever is on your slider on your pant leg.

I was looking into the Demello sliders as I liked the step they provided, particularly for the rear as I have young kids. I ended up going with OPOR bolt ons and am very pleased with them. Great for the wife to step up into the rig, nice kick out at the back for standing while strapping kids in seats/etc., and provide insurance when offroad.

I was thinking these since their priced nice the only thing is their weld on. What tou want them for is the same reason for me as well. I just havent found a picture how far they stick to protect the panels when someone opens the door.

I've been looking at the Shrockworks sliders. They angle up slightly, but you can order them with a tread plate to make it easier to step up and load the roof or to climb into the T4R. I also like them because they are bolt on vs. weld on.

I just put some RCI Metalworks sliders on and love them. Super stout, bolt-on and they have options for tread plates which are great. I gotthem with the top tread plate and the powdercoating and while they were a bit pricier than others, they have been incredibly awesome.

I chose opor because of the price, plus they bolt on. I actually got hung on a rock yesterday so i am believer now. They were a pain to put on, but i am glad i got them. Good price, plus I can take them off.

I went with Allpro. Bolt on sliders are a no go for me, I expect the sliders to stand up to a 5 ft vertical drop and not bend, which I have already done (accidentally) and they did not bend! Also, put grip tape on top of all the tubes so that you don't slide off and break your ankle.

Check out Home. Richard at Stubbs was great to work with over the phone and gave me a good deal on them. They stick out and are angled up just right to provide protection, ground clearance, and provide a good step. I agree with using some grip tape on them if you ever plan to step on them. They are weld-on (fine by me) but with a little work could make them bolt-on.

I just installed a set of those. There's a good bit of welding left to do, you've got to cut two of the legs to length, and weld the landing plates on.

I don't have a pic from a good angle yet, but they stick out fairly far. About as far out as the extreme outer point of the doors, with the rear kickout extending a few inches further.
