Which Tent to buy?????

So I'm thinking about a good three man or four. This is not going to be packed around. This tent will go in the 4Runner of weekend use and camping trips. Right now I'm looking at the Marmot Limelight(3man), and the Marmot Limestone(4man) three season tents. If any of you have some good or bad exp let me know. Also what is your other favorites I should consider. I would love a North Face VE25 but I have no real need for it for what I do unless I go hit the top of a few 14ers or more in the winter months.

If pack weight isn't an issue, might as well go for the 4 person. No experience with Marmot gear, but if they're designed like their base and mid layer clothing, they will be rock solid.

I like Sierra Designs, very durable and great reviews online. I have an old 2 person tent thats never let me down. I wouldnt mind owning a Zia 3 or 4:

Wenger also makes a couple tents. No personal experience with their tents, but Wenger is a great company. Here is their Jura 3:

You ever thought about a hammock setup? Thats what I use 9 times out of 10. Eno hammock with a Kelty lightweight backpacking tarp. You can even get a few extras to make it a 4 season sleep system.

I just use a Coleman dome tent. Sets up in minutes.
And then I collect vintage camping gear and have a few (4) old Coleman canvas tents.

No worries, they got that covered too. Guardian bug net works with any of their hammocks I'm pretty sure. I'd sleep in mine every night if I could

I went and looked at one today at REI. They are sweet. They didn't have a Rain Tarp in the store but had several hammocks. I also looked at the strap system, not going to pay that much for that. I'm going to make one out of 550 cord for the one I get. It will be three times as strong and that have a 1,000ft of it in the garage anyhow in need to use.

Coleman works just fine for me. Not too of the line by any means, but gets the job done. Pretty easy in the wallet compared to the masses. Descent 4 man tent with external vestibule can be had for sub $150.
 
Marmot makes great tents, but I would say that even those are a bit overkill if you don't plan on using it in too extreme of weather or if you're not planning on packing it. I have two tents. One is a Mountain Hardware ultra light that I use for backpacking and the other is a Kelty 3-person that I use for car camping. The Kelty is awesome because it's SUPER easy to setup and it was pretty cheap. Has held up well thus far.
 
Kelty is an awesome brand for camping gear. Relatively cheap and is pretty durable. I have Kelty stuff that's over 15 years old and still going strong.
 
I have been using Big Agnes Tents and bags for alot of years. We are using a Big Agnes King Creek 6 right now and love it. Fits our queen size air mattress and room for our bags. Plus it has a huge vestibule incase it rains. We have eaten dinner and played cards under the vestibule in bad weather.

Our smaller tents from Sierra Design and Marmot are great too. But too small for car camping trips.
 
I have a couple of Coleman sunset ridges...put them through the test this weekend when i went to an island and a crazy storm broke out.my buddies tents flew out mine was getting squished but i hadn't even placed the wind hooks after putting then it held up great and but one drop of water inside.its a 6 man tho
 
I just started hamping in a cheap little Grand Trunk parachute hammock. Good stuff, I've never had a better nights sleep in the outdoors. I'm making my own larger version now, then I'm going to start working on a rain fly setup.

I have a coleman and it is ok. I do not like that it doesn't vent much at all with the rain fly on. Mine turns into a steam bath.

I know I will use it for this but I'm not the only one that will use it so... I do understand what you are saying though. I have looked at the Kelty also.

I cant remember what brand I got right now, but I was at dicks sporting goods, they were having a special sale. I got a four man tent that was originally over $300 on sale and clearance for $45.

also, have you seen those tents that suspend off the ground.
 
I picked up a Coleman Instatent at Dick's for super cheap (they had the new model marked down instead of last years by mistake)...

It's a tad bulky/heavy but literally goes up or down in about one minute with 1 person. Mine has the rainfly too and I spent a VERY stormy night in it dry and comfy. Here's a video :
