Which Tent to buy?????

I own a Eureka 4-man 3 season. I've had it about 25 years now. Its been an excellent tent. Always kept me dry in the worst Sierra storms. Needed something bigger so I got a Mountainsmith Conifer 5. Its got a 6ft. center height so I can almost stand straight up. Seems really well constructed.

Well after taking into account everything and really thinking about it I opted for the smaller 3 man route(The Marmot had the better reviews and had the footprint with the tent).
The issue was I could just not get over that BA hammock so I had an issue. What to get???? Well better to have it and not need it, that need it and not have it right. For the ENO I was not not going to buy the BS straps they tried to sell me. So, 550 Cord and some knot skills. Problem solved and my stuff is stronger anyhow.
Also picked up the Dog pack for 20 bucks today off CL. Nice score, the pup was beat after running him around all day:banana:.

You need to get your stuff together and come down for the camping trip dude. It is not THAT far. What is 8 hour drive for :beer:

Haha an 8 hour drive is too far and too hot for my truck right now. Plus I'm low on funds to make the trip anyway. I'm buying parts to finally get my valve cover gaskets done. Then, I came up on a ridiculously sweet deal to re-gear to 4.88's and a rear locker I can't pass up (end of July), and my battery is badly corroded so I need to replace that. I justify it all as preventive maintenance lol I just need to get this stuff done before I take the truck out again. If I keep pushing it like I do, I'm going to run into more problems.
One day soon enough we can plan a camping trip! :cheers:
