Which wheel looks better on a 4runner?

I narrowed down my choices based on budget and what fits the bolt pattern for my 99 4Runner. The color of my 4Runner is Desert Dune or Silver. I have 2 wheels which I have to choose from.

#1 is the chrome wheel is an 18" (MB Express) with Nitto NT-404 tires 275/60R-18.

#2 is the charcoal mirror machined dark gray finish with mirror face is a 20" (MB SUV Bruzer) mated to Yokohama Geolander 275/45R-20.

The price between them is within $4 for the package so it is about even for me.

I need to make a decision by next week.

I would like the forum's opinion on which one would look the best on a 99 Silver 4Runner.

Thanks for the reply. Discount Tire sells them for $190/each for 20". The chrome 18" sell for $209/each at same place. I am kinda partial to what you picked...it looks pretty cool and kinda weird looking at the same time. :

I think 20 would look good on your car. i seen a few 4runner with 22's but i must say it wasnt tastefull. and about taking care of them, regarless of the rims you get you have to keep them clean n shinny =0)

i think the second ones look better because it's different from what everyone else has...and it looks hot too!

The second ones are sharp & differemt... BUT... I like the first ones better. A little cleaner look, less choppy with the color scheme, etc.

Hi Zach...thanks for the post! You can see those wheels online at tires.com. They are called "express" and the ones I was looking at were 18". When I saw them, they didn't look that much bigger than my 15" stock. So I am leaning towards the 20" Bruzers (also on that same website). I saw the Bruzers next to my vehicle and on my silver, it looked sharp! I have never seen wheels like this on the streets and the place where the wheels were said the Bruzers matched my 4R perfectly. So I went with the Bruzers. I will post some pics when I get a chance and let me know if you like it on my silver 4R. Thanks again and check out the tires I posted here. Let me know if you plan on upgrading the wheels too.

Those Bruzer wheels are cool too. That's a unique look, I haven't seen any like that. Can't wait to see pics :thumb:

Go for it, Zach! I ended up paying $1400 total with lugs, locks, lifetime balancing and rotation. I bought them at a local discount tire store and haggled my price down and it seems that I even beat the online price by 4 bucks!. I had to pay tax and that is why it went to $1400 ($1296 + 106.92).

I love them on the silver 4R and I've already gotten compliments from passersby and people I work with!...they haven't seen this wheel before and I found out it is new for 2004! So if you want the 4R to standout from the rest of the "chrome" 4R's, then this is the way to go. I will post pics shortly and I'm sure you'd love the way they look especially if you have a silver 4R. If you have a darker color 4R, they also come in black instead of the charcoal gray which I have. Good Luck!

I had the first ones on my Tundra and boy do I miss them. Tires were to big to fit on the Runner so I gave them up.

He hasn't postede on here since February. I wonder if he rearended somebody since he didn't didn't upgrade his brakes that used to be under his 15" stock wheels (those are base model brakes) and then to upgrade to a wheel that much bigger. Those stock brakes suck and coupled with the much added rolling mass it will lead to trouble eventually.
