Which wire do I cut?

Ok... So this 2015 Gen5 has to have the park brake on in order to enjoy a couple features on the Entune .... Do the higher powers know which wire from the unit completes the circuit via emergency brake ? Looking to by-pass the need for the e-brake to be applied in order to view DVD... I've found zero info on how to hack or by-pass this and whether or not the wire in question needs to be grounded or powered...

The Red Wire... its always the red wire, unless it's the green wire.

Joking aside, it is in fact a green wire.

On connector "C" of the various plugs going into the back of your radio unit (The TIS EWD won't let me save the diagram, otherwise I'd post it for you,) on Pin#15 there is a Light Green wire. If you ground that wire, the radio will think that the parking brake is always engaged. I would do it at the back of the radio, because if you do it any further down the circuit there's a chance to make make other modules think the parking brake is applied, when it isn't.

When you say the "Radio end" I'm assuming you are talking the faceless unit that's held in behind the touch screen... Is you have a file you wish to send feel free to fire away to my email addy- [email protected]... Your help is greatly appreciated...

I mean I would cut and tap the wire at the connector that plugs right into the headunit itself that is attached to the screen, after that it goes to junction block that splits feed for various circuits that are also looking for the ground signal of the parking brake switch. If you cut it and tap the end on the radio, you don't accidentally trick all your systems into thinking the parking brake is always on.

I'd post the picture if I could, the issue is that because of the way the TIS EDW (Electrical Wiring Diagram) Viewer works, it won't let me save the images/sections of the EWD as .pdf files like the old EWD did.

I read you loud and clear! Another issue this Entune System has is a software issue.. You can receive a text and while driving it will read it back... If you want to text back you select a short "one liner" from the menu (1-10) and by saying the number the predetermined message is SUPPOSED to be sent.. Instead an error message is received... Toyota knows they've got an issue ... Maybe this is a a whole new topic.. Or maybe you guys have already discussed (?)

What phone are you using with the Entune system and what software version are you running on the phone?

Also what software version are you running on the Entune unit? (Should be under General Settings and under "Information" or the "Software Update" sub-menu.

You may want to have the dealership update the software of the head unit, there is an update. I swear those CrApple products are the bane of my existence, 9/10 is CrApple products that are having issues with connectivity and syncing in all brands of vehicles. >.<

I suspected this might be an issue (CrApple)... Funny thing is the dealership told me it was the SOAPSCUM (Samsung) Galaxies... Sheesh... Maybe the car MFG"s should start marketing compatible cell phones too...lol.. I'll check to,or row regarding an Entune update... Stay tuned !!!

I haven't had too many issues with Android devices to be honest with you as I used my S4 and now my S5 Active to test customer's cars.

I didn't get a chance to check with the local dealer's service manager regarding software updating of my Entune... I'll try to call them tomorrow before the weekend and report back....
