Whining sound????

I went through some muddy water the other day and and now my runner has this whining sound very identical to a S/C. So i power washed the engine as i normally would and the sound still hasn't gone away. I have a feeling its the belts but thats just a guess.

Sounds like a belt to me

Probably it is one or more of the tensioner/idler pulley bearings for the serpentine belt. It is a known issue. The rear side of the pulleys are open, and if you get too much mud/dirty water splashed up inside them, it will get into the bearings and cause problems. Some times, you can clean it out with a pressure washer, if you can get behind them. Otherwise, it is time to replace them.
