Anyone need a TRD Pro at below sticker in CA? John Coffaney at Freeman Toyota in Santa Rosa has one a customer just backed out, $41,703.00 no games. It arrives in September. A few of us on here have bought from him amazing guy.

Too bad I already bought my Pro from Vallejo Toyota, but they threw on every option (most of those I didn't want/need) possible so it ballooned to around 43,500. But at least it was still at MSRP.

This a great great deal in CA. Probably gone by tomorrow. Thanks for trying to help us out Matt.
 
FYI you can fly into Santa Rosa airport CHEAP from SoCa and John will pick you up at airport....I flew up there with my girlfriend and we drove back down the coast. Was awesome. Best car buying experience ever with John.
 
Curious what you are driving if you think that's expensive? You driving a base SR5? Rav4? Try purchasing a full size truck with the same option for that price. Try purchasing any of the Euro unibody AWD variants for that price.

I drive an SR5, not sure what a RAV4 or a FST has to do with my comment.... I paid under $33k for my SR5 and for $7k I can mod it well beyond what a PRO comes standard with.

I have another vehicle that cost over $41k but that warrants the price tag:fro:

But there's zero residual value in that $7k worth of mods. So in 3 years you'll have a $40k SR5 (including the $7k in mods) that has a value of $27k. The Pro buyer will have a $41k Pro that's worth $38k.

For those who do not read the other threads on pricing a Pro or TEP...most dealers in LA/OC (and I hear in SD and SF too so basically most of this state), will start their TRD Pro pricing at $49k....And on top of it they will sneak in other crap like Lojack and who knows what after you finish the negotiation, hence bumping price up again...all kinds of games

so this saves you $8k with zero hassle.

As for Trail vs Pro, that horse has been beat to death in many other threads. Get what suits you. I have modded MANY 4x4s in my life, and unless I wheel a lot it doesn't pay off to dump all that money into it in lift, tires, skids, lockers, regearing, winch, etc. I bought a Pro, has a minor lift/leveling up front, nice rims and tires, upgraded suspension, a rear locker, and will drive smooth and nice with a warranty for years to come. Cost of lift, labor, new tires and rims, and a locker in LA would cost me far more than $7k had I got an SR5. And never in my life have I had a lift installed and the truck or Jeep or SUV ride as nice as factory, there were always quirks to work out, which is annoying were I to do it on a BRAND NEW vehicle and possibly void parts of the warranty.

At least get a TEP if you want to go down that road debating, so you get the locker.

Not trading th eSR5 in and if I was I would part out the mods so that is a moot point.

If your point is that for $41k you can get a fancy car or luxury this or that...maybe its a good point for people who do not want a 4x4 that can off road stock pretty darn well (that is SR5, TEP, or Pro), and want to keep it for 20 years and not worry about dumping all kinds of money into repairs and upkeep....I only drive 4x4s, never owned a car in my life (I am in my 40s), and I normally buy used trucks and Jeeps, because I lift them and get addicted to all sorts of mods, and used to wheel more, hunt more, camp more, explore more. So yea buy a used one and mod it up for far less than brand new. But I was looking for something to drive daily, around town or long road trips, for the next two decades, and to wheel eventually. Even when I start wheeling I can leave the TRD plain stock, and the little lift up front and upgraded suspension plus a locker will take me many many places, probably further than my driving ability is capable of. For me to dump $41k was not an easy decision, but I made it for the next two decades that I will be smiling and enjoying it. $7k spread out over 20-30 years is not that big of a deal. I priced it, picking out tires, rims, a modest lift kit, and the cost of labor in LA it would not behoove me to get a Trail and then worry if it was all done right and any warranty issues. An SR5, I do not even know what the availability is of aftermarket rear lockers, but I am guessing they are EXPENSIVE, and I sure as heck do not want anyone opening up my brand new rear diff and playing around.

I love pickup trucks, and I cannot even touch a nice full size single cab short bed truck for the price of a 4runner....everything 4x4 is expensive as heck these days....

Bottom line for me, I do not care what 4x4 you drive as long as it suits YOU....I love Jeeps, pickup trucks, and 4runners....and I just saw a red or maroon SR5 that looked amazing, and I was like dang I could rock that and be happy! I give thumbs up to any nice 4x4 I see, regardless of brand or model...We are all in the same community, and heck someday they might be trying to take away our 4x4s and lift kits because they are not good enough on gas etc...we better stick together...Maybe I should make a bumper sticker and t-shirt company, Pro-God, Pro-Guns, Pro-Lifted 4x4s :-)

nope... my point was you can get more aftermarket for the $$$$ nothing more nothing less.... but that was a great post I give ya a 9.5
