all thanks to my father (God rest his soul), the owner of a general contracting business who worked me into exhaustion on a regular basis. who then funded 90% of my college costs, all thru his own hard work -- not one student loan or debt incurred.
in the end, i used to be the 'dirty jobs' guy. i can lay brick, i can pave cement, i can lay a roof, i can wrench many things on an automobile. And i still have the hard, blistered-scared hands to prove it. but thanks to the notion of the american dream, and a real life actual father who wanted his son to be more, i now sit at a desk typing computer code all day long for the past 18 years, and make a very good living doing so. and i carry a very strong appreciation for what 'hard work' truly is.
