White Paint Help

Guys I picked up my 05 4R back in February. After taking a look ive noticed it has a few black smudges on it. For example black lines running down the back hatch below Toyota and 4Runner. Some random spots on the door that just look like large faded areas. A grease mark on the gas cap as well and some others. Ive tried washing but it wont come out. What steps do i need to take to get my white paint back and get rid of these imperfections? Is it just a simple wax or is there more needed

Then finish wish either paint correction (only if necessary; compound then polish) followed by paint protection (wax or similar). The clay bar is excellent for removing those imperfections that are embedded in the paint.

Wax is just the finishing product that goes on top. If it hides an imperfection it will only do it until it comes off in a month.

Check out my build thread, I completely detailed my white truck and permanently took away the smudges and faded paint.

For the grease and other things on top of the paint try a good soapy mitt wash. Look up the 2 bucket wash method on Youtube and check out how to fully detail and polish your truck while you are at it. A proper detail will take away imperfections by cutting through the clear coat (or paint since the Toyota white doesn't have a clear) which can make the paint look better than new. With the proper supplies and lots of research for proper technique anybody can learn how to detail their truck.

Inv4drZm, I appreciate you confirming my suspicion, that there is no clear coat on these white 4R's. I'd love to see a step by step process of bringing our white rides back to a great shine. Since there is no clear, is there a different process?

I don't think the process is any different but I'm no professional, just a DIY detailer. When I got my truck it had splotches/stains in the paint if you looked real close, and it was dull. On the first page of my build thread I detailed it myself and listed the products I used and a couple pages back I did the same thing again with some other products. Turned out great! Still has the same shiny paint! It feels really rough right now so I've been meaning to clay bar it and seal it again. If done properly it will feel like butter to the touch and look like its dipped in glass.
