is front white turn signals legal in hawaii? saw a car with white front turn signals yesterday but have never seen that before so i was wondering if it was legal

As long as the bulbs emits amber light you should be ok and most cops don't pay attention.

some of the ricers have either JDM clear turn signals, or cleared their own lenses, but if they do not emit an amber light, they can get cited.

in addition, the JDM/ricer clears may not be DOT approved, so there's another ticket.

you can get bulbs that appear white/chrome when unlit, but emit an amber light when lit to put behind clears (some people don't like the reflection of the amber bulb behind their clear lenses).

depends on what kind of vehicle you drive, to some degree. if you drive a ricer car with a fart can exhaust, expect to get pulled over.

if have a truck or domestic, you can pretty much get away with anything - lots of those lifted trucks running around w/ no recon, tires sticking out beyond the fenders, headlights WAY above specified limits.

lots of times illegal aftermarket HIDs are simply overlooked as well - lots of trucks and domestics with aftermarket HIDs in OEM reflector housings running around blinding everyone around them (it's that "ainokea" attitude again).

I have LED Turn signals in the front and havent had any problems so far, mine has the running light as the turn signal also so it looks really good, but you have to get a nice LED bulb the ones I bought were $18 a piece, but they are worth the look

You'll most likely have to check with Hawaii's vehicle code. In CA, white or amber light are allowed for turn signals up front. It has to be amber or red in the rear. I personally perfer amber all around to distinguish turn signals from other lights.

Turn signals and corners need to emit amber light when turned on. Doesn't matter what kind of lenses or bulbs you have, as long as it's orange when you got it on. I recently asked my uncle (a vehicle safety inspector here in Hawaii) and that's what he told me.
