I'm glad there are others out there that appreciate the idea of a capable multipurpose SUV and a sports/pony car.
No Supra for me, but I appreciate them as I have a good buddy that has an 88 with a 1JZ that puts down 580 at the wheels.
I myself have a supercharged Mustang Cobra that puts down a measly 420 on a little less than 7 lbs of boost.

We call Cobras "the American Supra". Another awesome platform to pull insane power out of. Very nice!

There are certainly similarities to Cobras and Supras - relatively small displacement, high revving, DOHC 4V heads, huge aftermarket support and they respond well to boost.
Now I just need to make more money so I can mod the 4Runner and the Cobra!

Seeing these pics brings back a lot of memories. I was such a big fan of the 90's Supra. What makes good styling? It's timeless. Those things still look good.

Gotta admire a stock-bodied Supra. Rockin' the stock chromies like me too!
Latest motor shot:
I'll be installing the new fuel system in two weeks. Running dual -8 lines with twin Bosch 044s feeding each side of the rail with a -6 return to the regulator and back to the tank. Lines are Goodridge PTFE smooth bore with a braided sleeve. Good for ethanol and race gas. Might post up a build thread if there's interest. She should run early April. There's a half-mile roll racing airstrip event in mid-April I am dying to attend.

My son has a chance to buy a Supra from a co-worker. It's an '88 turbo automatic. What should we look out for? I did a quick search of some Supra forums but didn't find a lot of solid info regarding potential troublespots. Any advice would help. Thanks.

No problem! I could have went down a list of stuff but im sure I would've surely forgot something.
Thats a 3rd generation specific website. Been since the early 00's since I last owned one.
If it's good to go you'll be doing a lot of preventative maintenance but other then that you'll both love the car. Don't get too mod happy with it as the trans will begin to hate life pretty much after intake, dp, exhaust, and IC kit.

His name is Mr.Silvia. He is BPU right but he's looking to go BPU+ soon once he can find the right deal on a front mount. He still needs to install his fuel cut defender but we may do that this weekend.
