Had the driver's side air valve break a vane inside of it when removing it to replace spark plugs at 240K miles (see pic below). Could hear rattling inside so I tore it apart. They don't repair these and only sell new units which are about $300. I did find a good used one online for $85, which sits on the shelf.

Replaced inner and outer tie rods at 295K to 300K miles.

On my 3rd set of rotors front, 2nd back. 3rd set of pads all around.

Bilstein 5100 shocks at 80K and still going.

Fluids, fluids, fluids, all synthetic and non-Toyota.

Most reliable car we've ever owned. It will easily go 500K miles.

"Original transmission fluid" - Yikes!

"Front bumper was replaced with OEM Replica after an old lady jumped a curb and hit me in a parking lot. Fitment is not perfect where the bumper snaps in by the fenders."

Wife clipped the garage opening while backing out. Just replaced the bracket per TSB and fitment is improved.

"1 windshield replacement"

We are on 3rd and need a 4th, though current crack is about 5" from bottom so does not obstruct vision. Wife is waiting for the rock that cracks it in her line of vision. Because of that, this is the longest lasting.

I'm waiting for a starter or alternator to go out, but no sign yet. We're on our 3rd battery as I can't mess around when my wife is off driving the west alone.

If I can get a dodge to last 280k miles, it’s just a matter of time before the 4Runner gets there.

Rear main seal just started leaking. Given that the transmission is showing no sign of issues, I poured a bottle of Blue Devil Rear Main Seal stop leak in it. Hopefully it works and I can put off seal replacement until/when the transmission does need to be pulled for a rebuild. I am game for pulling the transmission and transfer case, just not now as I have too much on my plate.

Engine showing no issues. Not burning oil. Runs very tight. May need to replace brake rotors soon.

Oh nice. How bad is the rear main seal leak?

Before and after I cleaned it up to confirm the source of leak after driving it around. Look closely on the left side of the plastic plug to the bell housing and you can see a drip. It is not spotting on the driveway, but it’s dripping onto the rear skid plate where it blows off at highway speed. Can see a plume of oil back on the fuel tank skid plate cover.

P.S. don’t know why the second pic is getting flipped upside down. Tried twice with the same result.
