That means that in 15 years you will have 18,495 miles on it when I buy it from you

That's sobering! If your payment is $600 per month and your insurance, tax and license is another $100 per month- it's costing you $7 PER MILE to drive!!

Or if it's paid for, even if it only depreciated $6000 the first year and you spent $100 monthly on insurance, tax and license that's $7.20 PER MILE!

YIKES! On a similar note...

I was in a car dealer friend's dealership the other day and he had a 2004 Mercedes SL600. The window sticker (in the glovebox) on this fully loaded beast was pushing $130,000. It had only 9,000 miles on it and was for sale at $34,000 retail. (Note- my friend paid less than $30,000 wholesale.) Do the math: $1200 annually for insurance over ten years = $12,000. Add tax, license and the VERY expensive MB standard maintenance schedule and you're looking at $20,000+ out of pocket over 10 years, + 100,000 in depreciation = $120,000 in loss for 9,000 miles of driving. That's more than $13 PER MILE the owner paid to drive that MB!!!!!

Going to resurrect this thread rather than create a new one - always like to see how many miles people have put on their trucks.

In addition, with those with high miles what type of major work or issues have you experienced in getting to that mileage?

I've only had my 4Runner for a month -- I'm at 400 miles now, hopefully I can get some time off and get a nice long road trip in. In spite of the crap traffic of Northern Virginia, each mile was enjoyable. This is a great vehicle.

Absolutely!!! I'm currently at 62K on my '13 SR5 4x4 and not a peep of issues! Windshields are a common maintenance item, and Mobil 1 synthetic oil is not cheap when you pile on the miles. But those are my only 'complaints' thus far.

Have new OEM Brake Pads and front OEM Rotors on standby for a brake job in my near future, and changed Transfer and Rear-diff oil @ 59K. Otherwise, the 10K oil changes and drive-shaft lubes, plus cabin and engine air-filter replacements (and stock sized BFG KO tires @ 3K and 58K) are about the extent of the maintenance I've done to my well-pampered baby.

I expect many more trouble-free miles from my baby (and my not-so-kind lead foot :0 ). Our 5th gen T4R's are a paragon of an ideal multi-terrain vehicle IMNSHO.

My 2011 purchased on October of 2010 just passed 80,000.

No complaints so far!
Other then oil and filter changes, I only changed the tires and brake pads!
Gotta love Toyota!

A little over 101K miles on my '11. Only mechanical failure so far, is my auto down on the driver's window doesn't work any more. It really is the switch, not just the window calibration.
