Coder and I ran Payette today. It's definitely a 4.5-5 on the difficulty scale. But it's awesome. would recommend sliders a good lift and big grippy tires. I struggled with my little street tires and relied heavily on my locker. could have used about 2-3" of front lift too.

Guys I need some feedback lol....
If I do a quick tire upgrade for now as a temp solution till I get my next long term nice set... Takeoffs from the rubicon 255/75's for 5 spare included....
What would any of you consider the most you'd pay for that set? In basically near new condition?

Good Pics Chris! I feel bad that I managed to not snap a single one... Seemed I was too busy spotting or puckering.
I will say that Payette Draw is the real deal... boulders followed by shelfs, followed by boulders, and more shelfs. It was, by far, the most technical wheeling I've done yet. I still think we could have gone that last stretch, but it would have been a pain to turn around at the end there... and I'd have felt better about it with some upgraded armor and sliders. It's always something! Thanks for coming along!!!

If you can get a decent price ( less than/= 100 per tire ) then go for it. You'll gain 1/4 inch of lift and lose a quarter inch in width. Surprisingly, pizza cutter tires don't look half bad on these Runners. Otherwise, you could probably find some brand new tires in stock size and P rated for right around the same price.

Appreciate the feedback man, so yea here's the scoop... looks like I'll score a set of 5 which allows me to pop a nice capable spare in place and they come on wheels as well for 550
So thats barely over 100 per tire not including the wheels. My plan is to try to resell the wheels for a quick buck maybe 200 bucks or something and then sell the tires on my truck now for a quick buck maybe like 250 not really sure yet....
Assuming I can do that, I'm at 100 dollars NET for a full set of MT's as my temporary solution to get offroad with some confidence in the tire while I get funds squared away for my lift and the tires I REALLY want in the future.

What style rims are they? I'm really looking for Sequoia split spokes, FJ Steelies or even the 6spokes

It totally depends on the line choice, what the driver/spotters feel comfortable with. I've seen stock 4runners and the FJ Cruiser Trail Team used to take stock FJ Cruisers through all the time. It all depends on what you feel comfortable with.
It's a great trail because it's pretty and has something for everybody. I would encourage everyone to run it just once, even if you take the bypass road for most of it.

maybe we did a different part but it was slow going and we came to a spot that would require a ton of stacking of rocks and I mean a ton to get up and over. It is an awesome area and I'd like to do it again, but with better tires and more front end clearance.
where we were there wasn't exactly access to the fire service trail.
