who wants to go wheeling?

Saturday is a no-go for me unfortunately. Too many kiddos with sports activities. Then I absolutely have to get to the range to sight in my .308 and test some loads for the 35 Remington. Still trying to decide which one is going to get the nod for the upcoming elk hunt...

Nice. Same here. Just left San Diego in January from the Peleliu. Now I'm recruiting in Mesa.

Very cool. Still in San Diego, waiting for my orders to come through, trying to recruiting as well. Shooting for the west side, preferably arrowhead or desert sky.

Logan714 good deal man. Recruiting is a beast. Good to be home but it has its days. Nrd phx is the best district for recruiting. I've been here since April.

I'm looking forward to it. After almost 5 years on a carrier and 3 deployments, I'm done with sea duty for a while.

It's giong to be something new and that's what I am especially looking forward to. Plus being home is a real perk. Duty is not fun.

Suspension just seems more difficult than it is. When David came over to help stuff land cruiser springs in the back of mine it was a PITA only because we couldn't lift the rear high enough to let the rear drop far enough. The easiest part was bolting in the rear shocks amazingly and thats where most 3rd gens have the biggest problems.

On a 5th gen if I remember correctly we removed the front sway bar entirely to get room which meant dropping the skid plates up front.

the rear shocks were a pain in the ass for yours, remember the spunge peice of wood and oil filter wrench trick haha. we could have used my hilift to make them come out but you wouldnt have it.

on the 5th gen the front was a lot of trouble because the ball joint needed to be disconnected and a bunch of things undone. on my truck i can jack the truck up and it comes right out, dont actually have to take the tire off even.

I didn't feel like dying just yet due to a hi lift. don't knock my McGuyver skills lol! I need to get a strap wrench from HF. they are pretty handy. the shock were easy, most people end up sawing theirs out.

never had a problem, the only time they have a problem is due to user error.

Finished my lift today. It took me and a friend about 4.5 hours. Wasn't that bad at all. I would do it again if I had to.

What a pain in the butt that was. Took 2 of us almost 9 hours, including the trip to oreilly to get a new oil filter wrench (broke the first one adjusting the coilovers) and also a trip to ace since King sent me the wrong nuts for the reservoir mounts. Adjusting the coilovers was near impossible as well. At the end of the day I would definitely pay someone to do it over again. Pictures to follow soon

The rear shocks on mine were pretty easy to do. Took me about and and some change. Just 4 bolts total. Not hard at all.

We couldn't get the drivers side to droop low enough to get the lift springs in, and had to undo the pan hard bar to get in in. Then lining that back up was a real pain. Reattaching the sway bars with the kdss was probably the easiest part.

That's a real bummer. Mine wasn't that bad at all. It went pretty smooth. I'm off getting my alignment done today. I really do like the way feels.

On the rear we did one side at a time. We used a bullet jack, put it in the axle to lift one side up. Getting the springs in was pretty easy.
