Anyone got any plans to go out this weekend at all? I'd really like to get some dirt on the tires for a little bit, probably Saturday. Was thinking about maybe just cruising down Table Mesa.
Hey so I finally made it up there for the 1st time this last weekend! But go figure... I'm a newb and didn't really know what to expect and when I got down there I noticed a gate at what looked like the main trail head and then signs about permits and what not... I wasn't feeling like winging it so I turned around and went and just played on the pipeline road for a little bit just southwest of there. But so pissed I didn't just go through the gate. That permit is basically if your parking or leaving your car there kind of stuff right?

No, it's more than just parking or leaving your car. The state trust land permits are for any use of the land, including just driving through. If you hunt, you can also just purchase a hunting license, as that is also a "permit" for use of the land. If you do go that route, make sure that you have a legal method of taking game with you while accessing the land. I usually bring along a .22 or my .357 carbine for rabbits or varmints of the two or four legged kind.
If I have any time at all to go out this weekend it will have to be on Sunday. Saturdays are pretty much booked through the middle of November with soccer and football games...

So does EVERYBODY that runs through there have a permit??? I don't even know what this permit is or how to get it lol. Unfortunately my Sundays ARE and will forever be out of the question :-/ I work sundays.
And yea no hunting license but would be carrying my 9mm just no intentions of shooting any critters. Solely for prevention of harm from said "2 legged" Varmints

Yup - the engine that is in the 4Runner right now is the one that will be up for sale soon. I have a wheelin trip planned for Nov 14th, and we're going to begin the swap right after.

I wasnt the one in need of a new engine. Thats [MENTION=120467]santanvalleydirt[/MENTION]. He'd probably be interested in going wheeling too. He'll just need someone to pick him up
Next week Thursday/Friday/Saturday... Going to be mostly down for whatever, so let me know if anything pops up.
P.S. I need to find some Rubicon BFgood take offs for now! ugh... These Good year street tires HATE LIFE on the trail, I'm not slipping or anything but man are they getting chewed up, particularly the fronts.

I still have the Jeep to wheel in even though my runner is dead. It will be back again by Monday, though, stronger than ever! Not sure about Sunday. It depends on how much my classes weigh be down this week.
