I just so happen to have Saturday off. Let me know if you all head this way
My room is booked for saturday night. The only thing that would prevent me from offroading while I am up there, is my girlfriends migraine. Won't know until last minute. We are heading up there pretty early so we can eat in town, then probably heading down to check out a plot of land my buddy just purchased out by lake mary area. No plans after that though, so I would be open to hitting some trails assuming she isn't quacking about her headache after that.

It's short notice, but if anyone wants to join in we'll be meeting at the shooting spot off of Price Station Road around 9:30AM. we did it with stock 3rd gens, but we did take off the running boards and tow hitch, which was helpful for departure and crossover angle.

I like to use my tow hitch as a sled...
...can't wait to get a new rear bumper with integrated hitch.

Vanessa and I decided on a whim to run Montana Mountain. It was a really nice ride. Its easy, lots of fast stuff in and out of washes in the last leg. Roughly 30 miles round trip. Found some cool camping spots up in the pines as well. Plan on running this one again especially end of may into June when the desert blooms. There appears to be lots of offshoots and also some tougher bypasses in spots.

I did some exploring today down south between maricopa the 287 and the 85. I ended up doing a trail off the 85 and around a few small mountains, it was about a 40mph trail with no obstacles and just sand, a lot of fun but I really wanted to do the butterfield stage route.
About 10 years ago I did my eagle project and what we restored part of the butterfield stage pass under supervision of the blm. The area had basically turned into whats going on over at butcher jones. We cleaned up a section of the trail and put signs to prevent motorists from wandering off the trail, and also made the trail itself easier to follow. I called the blm this morning and asked if the trail was open, the person who answered said yes, but when i got there the entire area has been closed off. the sign said that in 2008 they closed it to be repaired and would open in 2-3 years. well its 8 years later and its still closed, and there are no signs of it opening any time soon. It was sort of disappointing to find it basically abandoned, I camped out there many times and it seemed like the area had good use. I know that there are groups that restore trails in the tonto region like tral, are there any in the sonoran desert region?

Wow man I have missed a lot. I have not been wheeling or active on here here due to being very busy with work family ect and my 3rd gen needs some tlc to be off road ready again. My water pump started leaking before the holidays, got that all squared away after the new year. Then of coarse even though i did the diff drop my inner cv boots have split open and are leaking grease, wont wheel like that and time has kept me from replacing the axles. But very soon i will make the time and get out on a run with everyone. Its been too long since my rig has seen an unpaved road.

Im moving them around. those two big ones are going to move out wider and im going to put something else in the middle.
