Welcome Adam! You'd probably be able to run Box canyon out near Florence with no problems. I'm not going to be around next weekend (taking a motorcycle class my license endorsement) but may be around the weekend after that.

It's a great class, I'd recommend it for anyone who drives, regardless of whether they ride or not.
They're are things you should never need to learn from experience on a bike, for they may be one way trips if done wrong.
What are you planning on riding?

Thanks Freidom and Jeff. I'll google map that area and check it out. Let me know if either of you are looking to hit the trails anytime soon... I'd like to tag along especially since I'm new to these desert trails Also, This is not my daily driver so I'm willing to see what it can do stock. I do plan on doing a lift, some better ATs and some added armor late this year. Thanks, Adam.

Do you have any recovery gear? Winch, tow strap, shovel, hi lift, anything of the sort?
I'm 2 hrs away, so it's going to take some coordinating but I could show you around the Tucson area if you find yourself down here.

Thanks Friedom. I may take you up on that when I'm down that way! I do have tow straps, a shovel, d-rings and other recover gear but no hi-lift. I just try not to get myself into a situation i may not get out of ! .

Solid plan I don't have a winch yet, but have tow strap, come along and hi lift.
I don't seem to be very good at getting her stuck though..
We got a massive rain storm last night, so there's lots of excitement to be found in the mountains now (we have a 70' waterfall when there's water. I wouldn't try wheeling in there stock unless you're really confident. Get some skids though, and I think you could do it)

It really is. And humid! AZ is supposed to be a dry heat. These monsoon clouds roll in, I don't get any rain, then it's just humid all day. Come on fall!

We basically ended up on an ATV track which required boulder moving and tree cutting.

Tucson Runners or anyone who wants to come. My wife and I are planning on doing an afternoon run part way through the Gap on Sunday Afternoon/evening of the 4th. That is the Sunday before Labor Day. Our plan is to wheel into the Gap and then about sundown build a camp fire and hang out for a while then go home to sleep in and enjoy Labor Day by the Pool.

Anyone who is interested let me know and I will post more details here.

I know this trail, done it twice now... it's a good 4hours moving at a constant speed, I don't have armor, only rear bumper for clearance...

those that are stock I don't see having any issues for most of the trip, but you might scrape more often, especially on the stock hitch. I don't think belly will be touched.

tire's, I've ran most of this on stock tire before.

If anyone wants to go, I can be the trail guide.

A locker is not needed that I know of, just pick easy lines and you'll be good. there are lines for those that want to take the rougher route.

That's a good loop. I've done it a few times before.

the trail starts at butcher Jones to 4 peaks road to upper to lower, with so many off shoots I picked my favorite, lots of flexy areas, by no means difficult, as I use my daily.

anyone interested in coming? I don't have a date set yet, just putting the feeler out, and hoping to get a Toyota group going.

I did it again... The 1st half you will be fine, plenty of stock 4wd over there... Lake to 4 peaks road, plenty of spots to safely flex and enjoy with no worry... The 2nd half you 'should be fine' IF you can pick good lines... It's easy if you have clearance, and I'm only 2 inch over stock... We'll with tires that's 2.5 inch over stock
