So in other word, thats an example of an audio file and this dumbass is a prime example of a showoff. Seriously, people like that are who make a bad name for audio files like me.

So what makes this guy a "dumbass" as you put it, and where in the video is he being a showoff with it? First off this is america and you can do whatever you want with you truck. Second, he is showing it to his girlfriend and the guy with the camera. If you notice, he is in a wooded area off the side of the road. It doesn't look to me like he is being either on this video. So as always, you are simply being judgmental. I don't think you need anyone to give you a bad name, you have that covered on your own. :bash:

Back in the dark ages (89 or so), I rolled a Firebird with 2 8s in the bottom half of the cargo area.

It gave great sound at reasonable levels, although I never played it and got out to see how loud it was. (I usually played it at moderate levels anyway, though.)

I borrowed my cousins truck for moving when he had 4 10s and a big amp, and I got out to do something. I realized that even though I had turned it way down, it was still amazingly loud outside the fully closed vehicle from 30 feet away. The really low frequencies tend to carry VERY well, as when I got back in I realized it only seemed a touch louder than when standing outside. :bugeye:

SO, when you think someone is being annoying for taking offense to your bass, it may be because it is much louder to them than you realize. :awais:

I too was into audio when I was younger, I just didn't have the money some folks have.

I had a simple single 8" sub in a box in the crew cab of my ford ranger. it faced the back of my seat and was just perfect for me to get good sound and be able to "feel" the music. After my completely satisfactory experience with a small amp and this single 8, I don't understand the need for much more.

And yes, I played my music as loud an obnoxious as you would expect from a teenager. I still like to play my music loud in my T4R, as that is the only place I can, but it's just factory stuff now.

This happens to me all the time too (the wiper rattling) and it's annoying as hell. Also one time I was playing a song called It's Coming by Jake One and the bass hit so hard that my gas flap flew open while I was driving down the road. Probably because my port faces the left side of the car.

You really have to have strong ears to even appreciate that much bass. Running 900 watts to 2 12's is plenty, dare I say overkill. I can't even convince myself to put the subs at a setting of more than -6

Now I want to get some videos up of my system but I might get flamed if its too boomin':awais:

Booming overpowering bass is designed for a certain types of music and in my friend's car Metallica was too much and it was all bass and couldn't imagine driving around like that. I like it loud but I like it clear and crisp at the same time with a solid bass and my simple set up is more than enough for me and I spent less than a grand.

Thats why I have a Bass Knob, Turn it down when you want to listen, turn it up when you want people to get out of you car (or in, in some cases).

As I've gotten older my listening ear has changed. I still like it loud and always will. Now though, I need bass but not body panel rattling bass. I've gotten more into correctly tuning a system to present the proper sound stage. Once you get that figured out it's way better then bass intensive systems, IMO(and most other true audiophiles). I can crank it loud enough to piss off the neighbors and still hear the high, mids and the lows. Hi/low pass filtering is the shit. lol

Agreed! My system is for me, inside the truck. But when we're tailgating at a concert it's my truck usually supplying the music.

Same. It's funny when I pull up to a light and there's some dude(or dudette) blasting tunes on the stock system, I always have to crank it up. There's a total of about 1500W @ RMS running my system. It's got power to spare. lol

I live in a small town man. Anyone even thinks about looking at my rig funny, I'll hear about it before they finish the thought. Everyone knows the 12 gauge is loaded and I'm a light sleeper.

I hear that. Same here. I don't have any real sound system yet. When I sold my old 1994 Extended Cab, my sweet stereo went with it. :frusty:

I might start looking into upgrading mine this year. I was going to put my twin ARB compressor in the cargo cubby hole, but I might just leave that for a sub installation.

Jeez. I still have the OEM radio in my T4R and it's rarely ever turned on.

It's not that I don't like music, I just prefer keeping an ear out for any weird noises my T4R might make. With music, I'm paranoid that something will break and I won't hear it, lol.
