I don't get y'all. What is wrong with that? That is some very expensive stuff.
It's not like he has done anything that will hamper his performance on or off road in a huge way. Sure that is about 300 LBS, but that's not TOO much.
I would much rather have that than some lowered 4runner on 20's or something.
Guess that's just me though.

Also, not to sound like a prick or anything, but I can easily make my trunk lid rattle that much with only 2 12's. And get the side of my car flexxing too, since that's where the port is at. But I don't like when it does that, and I don't care for people who put in subs solely for that purpose.
I'm not sure how effective opposite facing subwoofers are, but then again, he could have designed that purely for the wow factor

Like people have said: To each their own. Not really my style but I'm not gonna knock the guy.
I do, however, think it's really impractical to have such a huge sub-enclosure as he does because he can't even see out the back window or side cargo windows. That's just dangerous.
Also, who really needs that much bass? Personally, I'd just get a severe headache if I had to drive around in that thing all day.

Actually thats probably somewhere around the 750-1000 lbs range. 8, 15" Lanzars, each weigh in at about 50 lbs, thats 400 lbs already, plus that enormous box, plus 0 gauge power wires to run it all..... yeah thats pobably about 800 lbs. What a dumbass. (not you clemson, the guy)Clemsonfan15 said:

That's all it takes. Once person to "notice" you coming...and the whole thing is justified. I spent way too much money and time installing stereos in my cars. I did learn some lessons though...which I guess is valuable.
Today, I'm much happier just finding components that sound good for a given environment. Without spending a lot of time and money (neither of which I have these days), a car is a pretty terrible listening room. If you just want to make noise and watch your body panels flex and fall apart, it gets the job done...as shown in the video above.

"Noticed" doesn't always mean good;I rarely hear things from people that they werre impressed with a loud stereo cranking music they even liked but in most cases in public commons only a small percentage appreciate your effort.
When I rolled down the street in my moddede Eclipse I wanted to be noticed for driving a clean,sweet car and the light rumble of the exhaust is all I needed and it wasn't loud enough to annoy.
I guess it's more of thing when you're a teen.
My system is for me and not the guy 50 yards away but it can be loud enough to annoy people around me if I choose.

I agree that that "hobby" is for a younger crowd, hell, I've even got tired of it for the most part.
I don't appricate guys who roll up to a stop light with the music blaring, but if I'm crusing down the road or something I don't mind it.
That design looks like the one Steve Meade is using in the Escalade.

Only problem is Steve Meade still has 5 seats and the install was 5 times better that that. Props to the guy for doin' it in a 4runner but I'm content with my 1 12" CVX.

I agree and disagree. Theres 2 type of people in the car audio world. Theres, audio files and showoffs. and believe it or not, as much of a douche bag that I am, Im an audio file when it come to car audio. I too have put thousands of dollars worth of car audio into my 4runner but everything is still accessable and I built it to sound really good. I do have 4 sub woofers, soon to have 6 but they serve a different purpose. 2, 12" 2,10" and soon 2,8" since different size subs are more sensitive to deifferent frequencies I decided to put 3 different sized subs in so I could have the best of all world. And even though, if I were to run the maximum amount of power people a mile away would be able to hear it, I've never turned my stereo up loud enough to where it could be heard outside my car unless Im on the highway and theres a really good song on. So in other word, thats an example of an audio file and this dumbass is a prime example of a showoff. Seriously, people like that are who make a bad name for audio files like me.Clemsonfan15 said:

Running different subs really makes no sense. That is commonly discussed on caraudio.com. Saying a 12" plays lower than a 10" is false.
I think there are people, like you were talking about, that really enjoy the music, no mattter if it is SQ or SPL. These people know when to play their music loud and when to be respectful.
