^^Especially when you consider so many members on her barely getting around to changing the timing belts and valve cover gaskets at 200,000 miles.
Actually no, seriously though if you think about it, a low mileage car really doesn't mean anything. Case in point, if someone put for sale (let's say a clean 3rd gen) with 200k miles on it but a load of service records and receipts, I'd snatch that up in a heartbeat over something with 40k miles that is double the price (which is exactly what I did do actually). Age has a lot to do already with a car degenerating, so it's not like you're buying a 2013 with 40k miles, you're getting 17 year old seats, dashboard, electrics, rubber ANYTHING like door seals/engine gaskets/suspension bushings, etc. If you really think you're going to get another 160k miles out of a 17 year old 4runner without incident, the sorry end consumer is in for a nasty surprise.
Seriously though, I scored my 3rd gen for $1800 and spent $1000 on parts and have a "perfect" truck. Even if I had paid a shop to do the work, I'd be all in at $4,000 max. If I spent $7,500 on that god awful "deal" above which there's no way in hell that owner is going to sell for that price, I'd STILL need to do the timing belt, water pump, axle seals, etc etc. and all I'd have in an $8-$10k 17 year old truck that in reality, makes no promise of being any more reliable than the one I currently have.
