Whole bunch of 22re codes

Hey guys!

Haven't been on here awhile. Life and such got in the way. And my fleet of yotas have been performing wonderfully, until I got a check engine today on the 22re truck :yell: By the way, this is an engine with now about 1500 miles on it.

Anyways gently drove it home and checked for codes. I got a 12, 14 and 71. So according to the 4crawler site 12 is either ignition or knock, 14 is ignition and 71 is my good friend the EGR. Any suggestions on where to start? I guess from what I see for codes I would assume that there is an ignition problem that is the root cause. Correct me if I am wrong to think they all stem from the ignition. The FSM is seriously lacking in the ignition department. There really haven't been any symptoms. Also when the new engine went in, EGR was cleaned real good, knock sensor is new, and everything ignition wise is new except for coil pack and dizzy.

I already checked for loose wires and such. When I have some daylight tomorrow I will check other simple stuff like making sure I have spark on all four. As always, suggestions are welcome! I'm hoping its an easy one. It was so nice not listening to my yotas scream for new parts on a weekly basis.

Code 71 - EGR valve or hose could be clogged, but the code is for EGR gas temp, so the EGR temp sensor could be the problem.

The 12 and 14 code relate to Ignitor/Distrib, and there is a small section in the FSM on checking the Ne and IGf signals indicated by those codes.

Whew okay, looked through the FSM a little less tired. I found the little section on the ignition stuff. At least I know how to test a few things now. Would it be reasonable to assume that all the codes are stemming from a single source, like a bad ignition part? Something along the lines of poor ignition on one cylinder, tripping the knock sensor and making the EGR see exhaust that isn't to spec temp. wise? After I change the oil on the Tundra today, I'm gonna go test the coil pack, wires, dizzy and such I guess.

Okay, just ran through the ign stuff. I've got spark, wires check out, plugs look good, cap looks good. The coil pack is just a touch outside of spec. Not sure if its my problem, but I'll probably just replace it anyways. The air gap in the distributor is fine, but the pickup has way too much resistance if I'm reading it right.

FSM says it should be 185-2750 Ohms, cold. I didn't check it hot, but I had to set my multimeter to the 20M setting to get a reading and it read 10+. So, if I am understanding my multi right, that is super high over spec right?

Anyways, it is looking like the pickup it bad. Is the pickup replaceable on the 22re dizzy? I know it wasn't on my 3vze, I couldn't find a new replacement. Anything else I can do to check the dizzy before I go drop that much on a part?

Darnit, back outside again. Forgot to check for the ECU connection.
