Who’s interested in a HID/Projector retrofit?

I have purchased a set of new 5G headlamp assemblies, and selected Lightwerkz as the retrofitter. Lightwerkz.net

I’m discussing my projector choices with them now. If I can get these choices nailed down on 10/18 or 10/19, I plan to have a slot in their build queue.

When I’m done, I’ll have a set of 5G headlight assys for sale. My plan is to sell them cheaper than I paid (thinking $250/pr), and whoever purchases them can do the same for another member.

Anyone interested?

I'll certainly do so. I'll do before-and-after too, but I have the Xenon Depot kit installed now, so that'll skew things some.

Harper has already stepped up (anyone surprised?) for mine as soon as we talk over some details. So, if you want them, get with Harper.

Certainly Lightwerkz will be learning on my project, and subsequent retros will be cake.

I don't know yet, as I have not selected the projectors I'll use. There may even be a possibility of room for 4 projectors!

4 projectors would be unnecessary and would look odd. You just need a quality bi-xenon kit with good projectors. Then you could use the high beam area for a LED DRL.

I personally was only hoping for a low beam HID and use the High beam reflector. I had a Nissan 350z and the cutoff and spread of the light was incredible. So that is my first choice for projectors, plus the housing is killer.

I've been out of the scene a while, but the S2K's were C's favorite at the time. Aside from the Lexus LS wide beams, those were the best single xenon projectors around

Yeah the S2000's were and I believe still are one of the best projectors out there. I'm interested to hear what Cesar recommends. When I get my 4Runner, that is what I'll probably be going with.

When I had done a HID projector retrofit on my TransAm Firehawk last year, I used the TSX projectors, which were suppose to be an excellent projector and more budget-friendly. I absolutely loved them, wide beam and great cut-off. I had no complaints. I don't think you can go wrong with them either.

Here HiDplanet : The Official Automotive Lighting Forum is a very informative forum when it comes to lighting. In the "General Discussions" you'll find my post "S2000 vs TSX" -- responses 100% favored the S2k. And there's an excellent set of pics posted in it, comparing various projectors.

Harper7 has already agreed to buy them from me. After that, it's up to him and the next guy. If you want them next after Harper, you should contact him. My plan was to obtain a spare set of lights so that they can cycle around the forum - after I've retrofitted. I'm not going to attempt to track them past Harper.

Maybe have a separate thread with who has the lights and whos getting them next. I am definitely interested but want to see the final product first. Then I would be willing to participate.

Caesars work will literally look oem when he's done with them. He's that good
