Who's ready for President Trump!

You do understand that deficit and debt are not the same thing, right? Learning the difference should clarify this disagreement. I made no such claims about debt, and the statements I made about reducing the deficit are true, as is made evident by the charts I attached.

Damnit! Why can't we just get it through our thick heads.

We are only allowed to debate Obama v Bush II under the very narrow terms that he has defined. Everything else is just BS!

Not at all. I've actually stated a wide variety of reason as to why I think things are better now than when Obama took office. You guys have chosen to focus on debt (which is actually one thing I never mentioned), and the primary factors that contributed to the rise of ISIS, rather than addressing any of the other issues I raised.

i would ask the exact same thing of you. do you understand the difference? semantics and correct word usage play a role in communicating.

how do you look at the numbers and claim that obama has reduced the deficit more than bush? yes, the FY deficit is less than it was in his own first year and second year and third year, but the estimated deficits for FY 2016 and FY 2017 are still higher than all but bush's final FY. the total "presidential" deficit isn't close, either, yet you continue to claim that obama has made significant inroads to improving FY budget deficits.

there's no more point to belaboring the issue, you are willfully obtuse as camoflage for your misguided claims.

George Bush took office with the country running a deficit of approx 150 billion. When he left office the country was running a deficit of approx 1400 billion. During his term the annual budget increase by approx 1250 billion.

Obama took office with a deficit of approx 1400 billion and will leave with a annual deficit of approx 500 billion. A decrease of approx 900 billion dollars.

Ironic as you seem to have turned this into a debate over the semantics of a single point I made several pages back, and haven't really provided any substance to the debate other than to continue to find different ways to say that the debt has increased. A point which I have never contested. Yet you continue to find more ways to conflate annual deficit and national debt.

It seems like many of you need to go back and 1) get better - meaning real not slanted - sources for your information and 2) Learn the art of debate instead of immediately resorting to petty name calling when faced with a challenge.

Thread closed. Any more overtly political threads started will be immediately shut down.
Oh, and nobody "won" that last argument.
