Why can’t we have cool stuff like grab handles with buttons?

These are about cell phone size buttons (for those who remembers button phones). Not useful while driving or in winter when gloves used. Dash panels on any Jeep have plenty real estate to place normal size controls.

I have often felt that the A pillar / grab handle area is such an underutilized area. I recently looked into doing gauges (totally ricer mindset), but no dice haha.
