Why do all the new Toyota's look like fish?

The new Civics look ridiculous. Looks like it's about to transform in to a decepticon. In fact all the new Asian sedans look weird with overly elaborate lights and random plastic vents all over the place.

Hahahaha... I was looking at one of these the other day and was wondering what the hell people at Honda were doing when they designed the rear of the new Civics.. It's like someone stepped on a Prius fetus fresh out of the 40 watt womb of an easy bake oven, then sharted some bs sport vent mesh, ALL, OVER, EVERYWHERE... Just a complete train wreck.

As far as newer 4Runners go, I think that the newer they get, the more they benefit from aftermarket upgrades. The good thing is, they can all be made to look and perform better than stock with some minor changes. I have seen cool builds in ALL gens.

in all honesty i like the look of the new 4runner. i worked for a rental car company as a driver for about 2 years and was always excited when i looked them. my only real complaint with them is that there are a little to many hard edges and they are looking a bit too similar the the sequoia

Most new cars look the same. The Focus RS is a fish too. In fact, it likes water so much that it will blow a headgasket so it can breathe.

I was excited for the new Civic hatchback as a potential DD/commuter until I saw it. It looks like a melted F-117.

They look like those droopy old 2000s sad sack Dodge Durangos. The new Tacoma is even worse.

Those original Durangos are so nice, had v8 and third row seating. I Miss BoF SUVs from the 90s and 2000s. :'(

I like new design. But also, I'm not buying car only for design. I'm using car everyday, so I'm looking for something "useful" too.

I don't mind the new styles but despite being relatively young I always liked the simple squared off look of cars from the late 80s - early 90s

When the 5th gen 4runners first came out, I saw an article that said that the front end was actually inspired by a largemouth bass. So if you're wondering why they look like fish, it's because they were designed to look like a fish.

Of course what is pictured is the previous generation Civic but the interior of those new civics, just below the dashboard is hideous fish scale plastic and has some stupid vent controller. I went to a local Honda dealership just for fun and laughed out loud when I looked inside.

The sales dude was not too happy.
