Why I hate mud.

That's what sliders are for, friend. Tell you what, I'll trade you all my mud for all your rocks, and we'll both be happy.

:p Yup, that's right you didn't have sliders did you. You know you really shouldn't stage dive onto rocks, especially if you don't have skids and sliders. :p we tease, we tease.

Eh? The only body damage my rig has is from being towed into a concrete pillar at a gas station. I think you're thinking of somebody else.

yes. Post 20. Says I stage dove into the mud. I'm reiterating don't blame the rock that he didn't have sliders.

Sliders were planned but never installed. I'll take the trade out any day. Sorry if it stepped on toes by calling it a 'stage dive' but that is the only way I could think of describing it. I have played in the mud butt loads of times and have never managed to coat the engine bay like that.

That was my first trip on rocks and it turned into an expensive lesson learned. Not saying I wouldn't do it again, but DEFINATELY don't care for DANIEL TRAIL @ UWHARRIE, and if I go again, will be a slower less agressive and equipped group I run with.

My not wanting to hold anyone up(pride) is the root of the charachter mark, and I shouldn't blame the rocks probably, but crushed doors an rockers are worse than smack talk from getting stuck and pulled out.

Awh, No toes stepped. Just poking fun back at you. Hence the little purple dude. :p i wouldn't be sharing videos of my stuckage if it was a sensitive subject. Not my first stuck, and not my last.

When you take your truck offroad you need to assume the risks. If trail buddies say you fit the requirement for the trail and they take you along then they need to assume some time waiting for you or guiding you through. Or they are not good buddies. That's how we work it in my club.

I dont blame the guys I was with one bit, I shoulda backed down and took the bypass route, noone was expecting the sideways bounce, and Kyle did keep me from rolling it when I got in a bad off camber position...

Austin sheared his diff support, one guy rolled, an I killed my exhaust an body, it was a bit rougher an fast paced than we thought. In hindsight, I shoulda admitted defeat, Austin probably shouldn't have bunny'd, and Daylon shoulda had a spotter at the bottom as well. Friends made and parts broken, it was still a fun trip.

There's a reason why they call it "rock CRAWLING"--the word "fast" has no business on a rocky trail. That's when expensive things go "boom"--LOL!

Well, had my truck been set up as theirs, I would have been fine, but with a nearly stock suspension, no armor, an open diffs, it was about all I could do to keep up.

In mud, everyone is equal, no dual cases or sliders or super flexing suspension needed. A winch, snatch strap, or junk talkin friend is about all that is needed for a good time. It is krawlings evil twin. Both are adrenaline filled sports, and test your vehicles limitations... I just prefer to fight traction instead of gravity.

Each specialty has its requirements, and certainly rock-specific equipment like extra-low gearing and sliders won't help in mud, but lockers, high clearance, and large-void mud tires will make a big difference on who makes it through a mud hole, and who gets the strap. Even then, speed is not necessarily what's called for, but steady momentum and a quick hand on the steering wheel. Mud or rocks, high speeds are best left to those with gobs of money to put into much more serious equipment than the casual offroader is likely to have.
