is it normal for a charcoal canister to make noise after driving the 4runner around. it makes noise right after i turn off the engine. it would make noise for about 2 minute or so than it would go away. is that ok or do i needed to change it out, or am i'm wrong and it is coming from somewhere else.

Nothing wrong with it, it'll do that. Nothing you can do about it either....except if it's bothering you, you can unscrew the gas cap when you park it to let the evap gasses escape. Mine would buzz for like half an hour, so if I was pulling in the garage to park for the night I'd let the pressure off so I didn't have to listen to it.

There's a discontinued part that costs ~$25 to stop the noise. It's a little black plastic box that you put in-between the canister and one of the hoses and it traps the gasses that escape and make the noise. The part # is 77701-35010. Jacque at trdparts4u.com found one for me, you can try to give him a call at 972 852 0105.

Brian they are unable to get those any more. I tried a year ago. Jacque said it's a no go completely at this point.
