Why we build our rigs...

well Mexican food ceviche is shrimp and scallops that has been cooked in lime juice. it is never heated up but the acid in the citrus cooks the meat.

very few places have it on the menu because it does not keep well. I think they have to make it daily.

Makes sense, also making my mouth water haha !!!

Wow did he really just say California doesn't have real Mexican food?

WOW... I can't believe I just read that....

I've been to some authentic places throughout California, but I would say San Diego probably has the most. And, I have probably been to Mexico at least 500+ times in my life, and the food here is just as Mexican as Mexico, and I know Mexican's who will say the same thing!

Illustrated by Brian with those tasty tasty shots... yum yum yum!!

Okay, I am not Mexican but what is real Mexican food? I have gone to a few restaurants here in town and a couple in the bay area and they all taste the same.

Green Chile, Red Chile, Corn Tortillas, HOT salsa, Guacamole, Carne Adovada, Enchiladas, Chile Rellenos, Juevos Rancheros, Tamales, Tostadas, Beans, Rice, Menudo, Fajitas, Posole, Sopaipillas, Sweet rice, and so on...

I thought ABQ, NM was known for its chicken not Mexican Food.

I here the food at this restaurant is great:

LMAO!!! Chicken? WTF? You've been watching too much TV dude. That is a fake restaurant on BREAKING BAD!

I DON'T SEE ANY CHILE ON THAT ISH!!

From a little taco-shop on Clairemont Mesa Blvd in San Diego.

Left: Tostada de Ceviche $4

Right: Carne Asada Taco $3

:thumb3:

But yeah, I guess that qualifies.... The Ceviche is more like coastal mexican food. When I think of Mexican I think of the stuff I listed above.

Yup... I said it. You guys have your version of mexican food, but from what I've seen/heard it's mostly that Baja type stuff. We've got it all, and I'd put NM's best restaurants up against Cali's in a heartbeat.

Love that this thread turned into a cuisine discussion! that is true mexican food, and looks amazing!!

No kidding huh? Sorry we jacked up your thread man.
