why wont this work????

anyone who has an Airraid throttle body spacer and would like to help please lend a hand. I bought one and it won't fit. I can take it back but I would rather fit it on somehow. It says it is for the 2004 and I have a 2005 but alexjet says he has one and I dont see anymore for any later models than the 04. I know the VVT-i came out in 05 but I still thought that maybe it would be just a little bit snug...

your best bet? tell them it doesn't fit and return it as they're worthless. but that's my 2 cents.

If you really want to make it fit, go back to the vendor and tell them you can't get it to fit so they must have sent ya the wrong one or maybe they don't make one for the 05's?

IIRC the 04 and 05 use different intake systems and the spacers wont fit the 05+ VVTi V8s.

I agree that they are worthless on the Toyota engines. The intake tracks are pretty long as it is, so lengthening it doesn't do too much.

This and the K&N filter were the first mods I did. Back in August when I ordered it from some aftermarket auto parts website it said it fit the '05. But sure enough when I tried to put it on, the bolts didn't line up with the holes and I realized that some dumb marketing intern probably just re-labled an '04 TBS because he probably assumed that the '04 and '05 4.7L engines were identical. So I sent it back and got my money back.

Bottom line: There is no TBS in existance that will fit an '05-'06 4.7L.
