Front Sway bar quick disconnects came in on Christmas eve and yesterday i was finally able to get them installed.

Out with the old and in with the new

the new ones are about an inch longer than the old ones and have significantly reduced the body roll since i have been driving around town...I cant wait to get them off road and test everything out with the sway bars disconnected.

And installed. Cannot wait to go out. Will have pictures up soon with them disconnected!

So went wheelin today with some buddies and ran into a little bit of a problem... Could not for the life of me get the front disconnects off to test out not having the sway bar connected... so i may just unhook them until i take it on road trips or whatever then put them back on. So i just left them on and well i rubbed a ton today! so time to figure out where and get that fixed now. But anyways here are some pics from today...

So on top of all of teh crap i found out today my cb also isnt working both ways... i can hear others just fine, but they cant hear me... I tried 2 different mics so i dont think its the mic... so its either gotta be the tuning, or the cb itself that isnt putting out the signal right. I am not too sure. anyone with cb expertise feel free to comment on what the issue might be! The help would be much appreciated... Aaaaannnnddddd also i got pulled over for no mud flaps on the way home lol. So those will be getting made probably this week so that i can remove them when im wheeling as well.

Wow has it been awhile since i have posted anything... Well not much is new on the runner except for some maintenance with an oil change, checking all my fluids and glad I did as my T-Case was pretty low on some fluid so i was able to get that all taken care of.

So while i was out on the trail last i did notice however that in the rear when stuffing the tires into the wells i was still rubbing on the very outside edge of my tire tread. Soooooooooo, that meant time to "roll" the fenders if you can call taking a hammer to them that lol.

So after this if i am still rubbing it is looking like i may have to try and pull the fender out a little bit to prevent the rubbing all together. Still haven't been able to take the front disconnects off yet. Found out they were too tight and that is probably why they wouldnt come off when i tried earlier. So loosened those up as well while it was in the air and hopefully once i get my rear rubbing issue fixed i can start looking more into the fronts and getting them to disconnect easier and make sure they are not rubbing as well... Any input with it all would be much appreciated!

As for going wheelin haven't been able to go much, however i was able to take my girlfriend out for a cruise out and about locally and she seemed to like it... Think she might be a keeper haha

And i have a feeling now that i am getting rid of my bike i will have nothing but time for the Runner again!(sucks when you almost get a wreckless ticket, but grateful for only getting a 25mph over speeding ticket instead) So if anyone is looking to buy a bike let me know... located in Utah... $4600

So i was able to go out wheeling over the weekend and test out the new "rolled" fenders in the rear to see if i am still going to rub and now i think that i am rubbing only on the rear bumper when i am flexed hard in the rear. But i definitely don't rub nearly as much as i used to. So that helped alot. Now to figure out this bumper and how to either hammer it out or cut it a little bit.

Well last Friday i went and met with a guy from a local forum to see if we could get my CB output working again as i could hear others out on the trail but they couldn't hear me... Well come to find out my output is blown in my Cobra CB. Sooooo in that case i took the opportunity to order a new CB which will be here in about a week. Then it will be on to getting it tuned and be able to use one again with others out on the trail. I ended up ordering a different CB that the other member recommended, the Uniden 520XL as it also has an extra control for Gain to help out with the reception as was explained to me. Also, took the advantage of ordering a new Antenna mount from Toytec that should be arriving in the next week. I am pretty stoked about the Antenna mount as the one that i have makes my antenna stick out a weird way so that the rear hatch doesn't hit it when opening and closing, I know a buddy has this same mount and works perfectly to have the antenna straight up and down and doesn't hit the rear hatch at all. Then unfortunately, these will be the last few "mods" i think i will be doing for awhile until i can get a little more money saved up to get more parts to start on upgrades again... SOOOOOO IF ANYONE HAS ANY RECOMMENDATIONS ON MODS THAT ARE EITHER CHEAP OR FREE OF COST... POST THEM UP!

Toytec CB Antenna Mount

On another note, Does everyone else hate when a package gets lost or stolen? UGH.... I ordered an ARB EZ Tire Deflator. and supposedly got delivered on the 5th.... Well that was also the day that my roommate ended up getting the rest of his stuff out of my house(after i kicked him out) so i think that either 1. It got lost, or 2. he stole it before i received it and is lying about taking it, so now its going through UPS and LowRange to get it all sorted out which sucks! But hopefully that will all get resolved today and we will find out what is going to happen with getting my order.

Welp, got my Tire Deflator and Antenna mount in the mail today. Got the Mount mounted to the truck and will have to re run my Coax for the Antenna to get it to the other side of the truck later to be able to reach, then hopefully my new CB will be coming in as well today and then i can install and get it tuned to actually work again correctly! Will be posting pics of it all shortly!

Well.... Girlfriend ended up getting a dog. And he gets(has) to stay at my house haha. So the first day we got him ended up going out on a trail to start getting him used to them young!

You can kinda see him in there lol. But he held his own in the back seat.

I have a feeling he is gonna be a good trail dog eventually!

He is an Australian Shepherd and named him Dexter.

Decided to go out wheeling up the canyon for the first time this year and well it was fun but up towards the top started hearing a clunking noise in the front, got out and found that one of the pins on my front disconnect for the sway bar had fallen out or broke, so i just took that off and well looks like im just going to be taking off the front sway bar this weekend so i dont have to deal with that crap wheeling anymore.

A few other things probably going to happen this weekend is going to heat up the bumper close the the wheels so that i can hammer it in a little bit instead of having to cut any of the bumper to make the clearance alot better when flexing and not rub on the bumper anymore. Then hopefully will be able to go out and test the rubbing on saturday or sunday this weekend!

Welp, Friday went in to take the sway bar off and got that all done and off and the runner seems to feel alot better on trails now for sure. While i was under it found a torn CV boot so will be replacing that axle soon enough, then also was able to heat up the side plate by the rear tire on my rear bumper and hammered that in to prevent it from rubbing anymore when the tire is stuffed and seemed to work pretty well. So i was happy about that. Now onto getting the fronts to flex and not rub or anything.

After all of that was done went out on some Trails on Sunday and Monday.

Your 275/75R16's are rubbing?

huh... I wonder if I'm going to start rubbing. I put the same springs, I think, in the back of my 98, but I have the Tokico struts. I haven't taken it out and flexed it yet. Guess I'll go test before I go far.

Yeah but they were on the rear bumper and the top of the wheel well... so instead of rolling the fenders i hammered them, then heated up the rear bumper part and then hammered that back so it wouldnt rub anymore, and i havent really flexed it out enough to rub yet in the past couple of days. But yeah I did rub, but i also have 1.25" spacers which are part of the issue as well... Just depends on your setup, i am sure if i took the bumper and spacers off that i wouldnt rub.

4Runner is looking good.. Liking the rear bumper, wish mine was the latch style. I have the older screw pin style. Keep up the good work!

Haha yeah the spacers would definitely make it rub at the top of the well i feel... at least it did for me. I think if i took them off that they would fit fine, but still would have rubbed on my bumper is all. I think if i still had my stock bumper on i dont think i would be rubbing, or rather maybe rubbing a little bit but would have just hammered the chrome out out if i was.

Well after some time of using crappy headlights and trying to decide between a retrofit or LEDs. Reading through

I decided to order some LED headlights. Honestly they work amazing! very happy with how they turned out and they were simply plug and play and much brighter than the regular bulbs.

Thinking about Deckplate soon and hopefully ISR as well. Hopefully make a difference in performance even just a little bit.

Lift height

Hi I am looking into putting this shock set up in my runner its 98 SR5 4wd and I wanted to know what ur over all lift height is on yours i looked on the website and it said it could go up to a 2.5'' but that's for a tundra so I just wanted to know what it's came out to on yours thanks I appreciate it

F: 23"
R: 24.75"

Settled Hub-to-wheel-well measurements:
F: 23"
R: 24.5"

is what he found in the first link... LMK if you still want me to measure it but i believe it is close to a 3-4" lift
