Damn and here I've been convincing myself to not buy the "Tiregate UHG2060HITCHGATE OFFSET MOUNT" because it's $960, now you go and tell me that. A LITTLE more tempting at $799.

I actually had one ordered, but the more I looked at the photos the more and more the huge gap between the hatch and the tire bothered me. I am looking around at a custom fab option instead that puts everything right against the back hatch. Something closer to this:

I've heard of some people who have modified the wilco's to sit closer to the back of the rig. I do not like the gap either - at all. I guess it looks ok if you got a couple cans or something back there, but I don't want to drive around like that all the time.

Yeah, I have seen that before as well but even then you are still left wit a fairly large space due the overall offset away from the truck beacuse they indeed designed them to be universal (cant fault them for that) as well as the included space for rotoapax and a hi-lift back there.

I decided I would like a solution that would be much more visually appealing that I could keep on if I wanted to or unbolt it from under the frame if I want it off. A full on rear bumper would be great but I cant justify the weight or price at this point.

Be sure to post pics if you end up modding yours, would love to see a side view of it when complete!
