Wildpeaks Cracking

My Wildpeaks are almost 4 years old with 23k on them. Has anyone experienced cracking around the treads like this? Something to be concerned about?

I just noticed the same thing on my KO2s. Took them to Discount and was told that it is not an issue and that it’s a result of weather here in the PAC Northwest. They said if the “cracks” get wider (width of a quarter) then I should replace them. If you are worried about it take them to the nearest tire shop and get a professional opinion.

For reference, my tires are 8 years old with 60k on them.

I was near a Discount Tire today and stopped in. Same thing I was told....probably weather related and nothing that I should be concerned about.

I had 10 year old Nitto Terra Grapplers which didn't look that cracked up but had to go due to age. Look of your 4year old Wildpeaks is concerning. I'd call Falken execs and ask for new replacement. Be firm and tell them you feel unsafe driving on those. That usually gets their attention. At worst - they will give you generous credit for new set, but most likely they will cover your new set entirely. If you work with Discount Tires, they are pretty good at calling this up to manufacturer for you. If not here you go:

That's some early dry rot. Good you are aware of it, will just need to replace a little early.

"Weather related" sounds like a line to cover up what's really happening. The tire is dry rotting.

Check the "date code" on the sidewalls, I'm guessing that they are more than 4 years old, they may have sold you "new" tires that were already 1 to 2 years old when you bought them.

Date code from same year I bought them. I have an email into Falken and will see what their response is.

Does not look unusual to me. Tires should be replaced at 5 years, maximum 6 regardless of mileage. So if they were produced 1 year before you installed them, you are at 5 already, as others have mentioned.

I was thinking about getting the Falken Wild Peak AT3W but after seeing this, I have my doubts about it.
