Will 285 Nitto Terra Grapplers be ok on stock rims with an OME lift?

I am considering Nitto Terra Grapplers in 285/70/17 on stock 17" rims. I have an OME lift and was wondering if these tires would be ok? I couldn't find any pictures of anyone with this set up so if you have this set up please give me some feedback. Thanks

with that lift, you should be clear of rubbing, but the prob is trying to find a shop that will put them on for you.

i can be wrong though.

You might have to get wheel spacers to push the tires out to keep from rubbing on the UCA. I'm close to it even with 265/70-17 tires. See this pic for what I'm talking about...

Should I look into getting aftermarket wheels? What is the best backspacing to get and offset?

I was also looking at the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor in 275/70/17. Would these be ok? Thanks

the width of the tire will be the biggest concern as it may rub on the upper control arm. I have no personal experience with that tire although I am seriously considering that tire for my next set.

wheel spacers will be the quick fix or you can get some aftermarket wheels with a better offset/backspacing to cure that problem.

You'll be fine with any 275 brand tire. There's quite a few members with 275's and have no problems so if you don't want to address the rubbing issue a quick resolution would be this.

Other options if you want to go 285's:

• wheel spacers
• aftermarket upper control arms
• aftermarket wheels

I have the Nitto Terra Grapplers on 285/75/16s. I haven't had any rubbing issues. I did downsize from the stock 4R 17s to American Racing Mojave Teflon 16s though. I've had this setup for just over a year, and I haven't had any issues yet....knock on wood....

Spacers

I just had the Nitto 285/70/17 installed yesterday, and yes it is close to the UCA. About an inch, so now I am looking for some spacers. I figure the 1.25 will do the trick.

I want to put these on mine but I was told by 4wheel parts there's no way. I went with the 18" which are 32.5" diameter. What gives?
