Will 3.0 starter fit 3.4 v6?

I have a 96 sr5 4Runner 3.4 4x4. The starter is going and my father in law insists that we pull the starter and see if a spare from his 1994 toyo pick up will fit. I'm pretty damn sure it won't. But does anyone know for sure? TIA

Rock auto lists two different starters for each engine so I'm gonna say no it won't work.
