33s or 285/75-16 should fit without rubbing. Depending on the backspacing you may need spacers up front so the tires clear the UCA. Hopefully someone with the same setup will chime in. I think I've actually seen 33's on a 3rd gen w/o a lift at all.

I am looking at a 3 inch backspacing... with wheel size of 15/ 12.5

if those are the 5 star wheels (16") that you have now, then unless I am mistaken, I don't think you can go down to 15's without changing front brakes. If I am wrong, someone please correct me.

As for the 33's (or 285s) if you keep the rims, i think jsmarine had a 2.5" spacer lift and ran 285 bfg at's

For 33s and a 2.5" lift, you're going to have to pound the pinch weld flat on the firewall and trim your fender skirts or you will rub turing corners and going over bumps. Offroad it will rub a lot. Even with a 1" body lift, if you off road it you'll still have to do the same trimming and pounding.

Do you already have the wheels and what kind and size? Or are you buying new ones? My advice if you're buying new wheels.. get 16x7s or 16x8s with 4-4.25" BS and go with a 285/75/16 or 255/85/16 tire. You won't need any spacers.

15" wheels and 33s don't work so good on 3rd gens because almost every 33 is a 33/12.50. You will have to do much more pounding and cutting on the firewall with anything over ~11" (285).

Yes that is usually true. In most cases, if it came with 16" wheels than it came with 16" brakes (even though most if not all of our door stickers say 15s).
