Will all the factory options fit in a 74.5-inch high garage?

Looking around the interwebs I see 4Runner listed as being 71.5-inches high. I am thinking that figure is generic and that various options like wheels, tires, suspension, 4WD, might increase the height?

I am specifically thinking about the 4WD Limited or Trail Premium. I have seen that some come with a little shark-fin style antenna that looks an inch or two higher than the roof rack.

My garage is limited to 74.5-inches and was wondering if all factory configurations will fit or if I need to be cautious about which trim and packages I select?

74.5" - 71.5" = 3" to spare.

The factory measurements would be with factory settings on everything. So assuming there is no variation in your garage access, you should be a tight squeeze, but fine.

Once you start changing the factory specs (tire pressure, suspension, tire size etc, you may no longer fit.

I saw the 71.5 listed for each trim on Edmunds. Do you know where I can find the offical factory specs?

In some threads people bash incorrect info from Toyota (like the width of limited wheels) in others we pick on the guy double checking height before dropping 40k on a new truck to make sure it fits his garage. How about cutting him some slack!

I quadruple checked my measurements before lifting and putting a new rack on my truck, I understand the concern.

Toyota's specs for the '14 list two overall heights: 70.1" w/o roof rack, and 71.5 with roof rack.

H22W is right, though, that the shark fin sticks up almost an inch over the roof rack. So probably 72.5" total.

Actually, I just did the obvious and walked out to the garage with my tape measure. I laid a crossbar over the roof rack in the rear by the shark fin, and I got a bit over 73" on both driver and passenger sides to the top of the rack. Plus the shark fin extension. Now I'm wondering why, since my LE is stock.

On my old 2013, the stock antenna is my early warning system for low clearance areas.

If your measurement is from the bottom edge of the garage door to the floor of your garage, you might be able to get an extra inch or two by adjusting your opener to pull the door up a bit more. Or you could install a compressor and air down those tires to get extra clearance!

Heh I actually did this as I am now sitting at 78 inches exactly.

Mmmm... naw, he should install airbags instead, can go up and down 8-10 inches that way!

Seems very strange that the ground clearance is listed as higher for the 4X4 while the overall height is the same. Think we would prefer the Limited.

Just spoke to dealer who said the height for the 4X4 Limited is 74.2-inches. If you are following that is 0.3-inches to spare! Good ideas about adjusting the garage door. That might get me a half-inch, but the top of the door frame not much higher than 74.5.

The dealer does not have a Limited on the lot today, but next time one arrives they will let me measure and test-drive to my home to see if it fits in the garage.

I would probably not be comfortable with 0.3 in clearance. I thought the standard garage opening is 80 inches tall? I would park outside or increase the opening into the garage.

I have a piece of paper taped to my windshield with my truck's height requirements. I only fit in one public parking garage in downtown Indianapolis. (i'm lifted thought).

I was able to adjust the garage door opener stop point and now have 76.25-inches! Thanks for that suggestion. 4Runner height is no concern now.

The wood of the door frame is 76.5 so no 4x4 Sequoia or 4x4 Expedition which we were originally seeking. The 4Runner idea is really growing on us and think it is going to be our best option.
