Will not start.......

My 2000 will not start even with a jump. When the key is turned to start the dash lights go out, buzzer stops and the gas gauge falls. I'm thinking bad cell in battery??

Bad battery. hold the jumper wire clips tightly to the battery terminals.
Avoid batteries from Autozone. Walmart got good batteries but NAPA got the best ones. My NAPA battery is now 7 years and going strong!

Does it make a click noise? When the starter contacts go out it makes a click noise sometimes, but starts after 2-3 (read:10) tries.

2X on your battery.
But you should check your starter too.
