Will this Cat Converter work on a 2001 T4R in Ga?

Hi all,

Can I get some info/thoughts on this Walker Cat Converter on Amazon? It is for a 2001 6 Cyl 2WD 4Runner....currently in Atlanta GA.

I need to know if it will work on the vehicle, is it legal, will it keep the CEL off - and, how do you replace a 2 cat system with this?

As the durk said, it's by gonna work.

You have a Cali emissions truck.

You need to either go with the stock cats, or get a O2 simulator from URD.

I am confused....the truck has never been in California, was not purchased there...has always been in GA as far as I know...Can you elaborate on that?

The Fed/Cali. thing ended in 2000. For 2001 and up, ALL 50 states went to the two-cat system previously known as Cali. So no, it's not a Cali. truck, it's a 2001 Federal, but that is the same thing.

Eastern and Walker and maybe others make after-market cats for these trucks, but I can't personally testify as to how good they are.

The cat you linked is 49-state. It is NOT legal, will not keep the CEL off, and will not 'work', as in, reduce emissions to the standard required. It can be made to fit by bending and fitting pipe. But why bother?
