Will this work?

I bought a 4xInnovations front winch bumper. I thought this was going to be a "bolt on" deal. Thats how it was advertised at least. Im having issues. It looks like I'm going to have to put in at least 1" spacers to get the bumper out far enough that my winch, a mile marker sec8000, will fit. I had to add these spacers just to get it out of the a/c condenser. Unfortunately the condenser got rubbed and bent From the bumper. Hope my a/c will be okay. For these spacers to work i would have to set back my a/c fan, hard line and condenser back.

If i add a 1" hunk of solid steel and longer bolts, will that weaken the attachment overall? I don't want my bumper to pull off while I'm sittin in a mud hole. I would also have to add brackets to get the side attachments to bolt on.

If you mean can you replace those shims in the first two pics with full size pieces of steel thicker than the shims, yes. And by full size I mean pieces with at least as large a foot print as the bumper mounting point where it touches the frame.

You could also space the AC condensor and radiator back about 1/4" w/o any problems.

They were taken on my phone. Not sure you can change pic sizes on the phone and i post here from tapatalk on ipad. If i used a camera and pc i could resize. Isnt technology great!

Yesterday i went by steel yard and got a bit of 1/2" plate. That was fun cutting with torch. Got to cut another strip then i should be winching. Im gonna fab a bracket to tie the front into the bottom holes on the frame. I watched a vid where a 2nd gen was winching and as soon as rope got tight....bam. Whole bumper comes off.:yell: that would SUCK!

Current fasteners used are 8.8. I added in a 1/2" thick plate all the way across the front member. The bumper now fits. I think i am going to get on of the frame stiffener kits and weld it in. Then re attach everything with 10.9 fasteners.

Just a note - I have the 4xInnovations Rock Sliders (with kick-out - DOM steel), and rear bumper. Both have saved my truck quite a few times!

The rear bumper does mount right up - it's just a *****! Easier with a friend with long, skinny fingers.

The Rock Sliders need welding - use the enclosed biskets! You should see the dents from banging off of rocks - they work!
