Winch light

I have a ShrockWorks bumper with winch which has a cut-out in the top plate to view the winch cable on the spool. I added a light to illuminate the spool and clutch so I can monitor the spool and to make it easier to reach the clutch in low light conditions.

I used a 2' water-proof strip light I had gathering dust (1' would work as well). I hot-melt glued it under the top plate of the bumper at the back edge so it shines on the spool and clutch. It's wired to a master winch-power solenoid I added to control winch power. On when the winch has power, the light is on as well.

Hope this helps others.

How do you access the clutch?

Through the hole in the bumpers back sloping section. The clutch is on the back side of the winch, so I reach through to the back of the winch and move it up/down as needed. While reaching through, I can see the clutch through the mesh grill to make locating it easy.
