Do you already have the Shrockworks bumper? It sounds like you're somewhat conflicted... if you have a winch bumper, it seems only logical to have a winch in it. If you've gone as far as the bumper, you might as well add the winch. If you don't have the bumper yet, it sounds like you might like just using a winch mounted to a portable tray that goes into a receiver hitch. Add a CBI hidden front receiver hitch and you can winch from the front or the back, assuming you have a rear hitch.

That way, you can throw the winch in the back when you're headed into remote areas and it's with you if you need it... another great reason to use the much lighter synthetic cable. Just another option for you to consider.
