For my first post, I'm resurrecting this thread to see if anybody has any other solutions or ideas for what's going on with the windshields. My 4runner has the wind noise from the passenger side as well. The windshield was replaced before I got the car, and not in a great manner I might add. But its interesting other people have heard what I'm hearing too. Anything?

i only get slight wind noise wen im on the interstate, but the wind is blowing sideways.
Figured I'd post up and give you guys an update, in case there's some nutjob out there who cares...
I found an optimal speed to hear what sounds like a beer bottle noise (you know, when you blow over the top of an empty beer bottle?), but higher pitched. While driving at that speed, I pushed on the top of the windshield and changed the pitch of the noise! Turns out my windshield was replaced at one time, and now im having Roseville Toyota replace it again, tomorrow. And i'm having a guy come out to me in Chico- I'm done with some of those yahoos! The service manager Randy is awesome- some of the sales management are crooks. I don't get it. I'm in sales (solar) and I know that when a customer's happy you may or may not get good referrals from that customer. When a customer's pissed they tell everybody! We'll see if the new seals work out...

The front arrow is 15 3/4" behind the back of the front plastic piece (on top), and the back arrow is 5 3/4" in front of the back plastic piece (once again on top).
Wind Noise
For what its worth, my dad took his 2007 in for a wind noise issue and it turned out to be the luggage rack. It seems the bolts had worked themselves loose over time. It was a hard noise to track down depending on where you were in the truck. The Toyota dealer tightened the bolts and that seems to have resolved the problem.

I have been noticing a lot of wind noise as well. IDK if its from the new SafeLite windshield (perhaps thinner) or the different roof rack that I swapped with a member on here. Its fine up until about 65 then it really changes drastically. I have not been able to find the notches in the roof rails....Perhaps I need to look harder.
Do you guys think its the rails themselves or the cross bars?
Either way, the volume on my stereo just gets louder lol.

I was scrolling through my old posts and found this one that I never posted a resolution to.
Roseville Toyota took care of it for me with Safelite. the trim piece on the top of the windshield did not have a metal insert in it when the first windshield was replaced. the trim would fold back at highway speed and a headwind and make the noise. the glass-tech installed a new windshield and trim piece with the metal insert and now the truck is PERFECT. I was able to talk and watch the guy install it and he pointed out parts in the glass where the previous tech didn't seal the windshield perfectly at the bottom either. Very cool.
mine is quiet, it's an 06, if that makes a diff. Consumer Reports review states it is quiet as well, one of the PROS.
Resurrecting this thread. Just bought a 05 SPORT 4x4 and it's is extremely loud compared to my 994Runner SRT. I notice the dramatic increase of wind noise when going above 45-50 MPH. At first I thought it was because I was driving into the oncoming wind but it happens every time, every direction.
I'm going to double check my rails and then use tape to diagnose.

I wanted to piggyback on this thread versus starting a new one. my question is have you guys noticed wind noise coming through the side windows? Obviously if the wind is going across the car versus a headwind, the wind sound will be different. but I was wondering if noise is due to the seal on the window frame itself or on the door frame.
